Don't know that you're the stat man  but over the course of this season i'm sure more will be from Senior than either he creates himself or is by others, if the trend of previous seasons is anything to go by.

Ryan Hall's 2009 tries:

V Celtic (H) - Intercept off a Tony Duggan pass
V Hull KR (A) - Pass received from Paul McShane
V Manly (N) - Pass received from Ali Lauitiiti
V Wigan (H) - Pass received from Ali Lauitiiti, High Kick by Rob Burrow
V St Helens (A) - Pass received from Brent Webb
V Les Catalans (H) - Pass received from Keith Senior, Grubber Kick by Danny McGuire
V Salford (H) - Pass received from Keith Senior
V Huddersfield (A) - Pass received from Keith Senior
V Les Catalans (N) - High Kick by Rob Burrow, Pass received from Ali Lauitiiti

Senior has been directly involved in three of the twelve (25%), the same as Lauitiiti. The point here is that wingers are not solely reliant on their centre's supply of ball and as good as Senior has been (and continues to be) Hall deserves some credit as a try scorer. He also scored tries on the right last season without a settled centre to feed off and Leeds' right wing (Hall/Smith) outscored Donald on the left two to one over the final twelve matches of last season.

so far this season 2 whole try assists, just less than on every 4 matches. He'll have to improve to get to the high heights of 7 out of 27 games in all of last season.

Not the most reliable of the Opta Stats on the SL website. Plenty of anomalies in assessing what constitutes as a 'try assist'. Lauitiiti, for example, has had to wait until last Sunday's effort to Hall to earn one this season while Buderus got one on his debut for running two yards and passing the ball to the obvious runner.

You can keep winning the mickey mouse cup

We are the Champions

Is it coincedence that since Mcguire came through our ranks with Burrow that we started to win things.

Why would we want to swap him for a Donkey?

You're telling me.

Leeds scored six tries V Les Catalans on Sunday, three were given 'try assists' by OPTA on the SL Website and three missed out.

Burrow high kick for Hall, YES
Buderus break and pass for Burrow, YES

Sinfield inside ball for Peacock, NO
Jones-Buchanan run, dummy, pass for Webb, NO

Lauitiiti, outside break and offload for Hall, YES
Donald intercept, NO

I'd query the two in the middle.

I kept wondering what the hell they class as an assist.

I could have sworn Sam Tomkins at Wigan must have some assists in trys from watching the games yet until the kick at the weekend he had none :? Against Bradford at the JJB he picked the ball up 10yards out ran accross the line, delayed a pass and put Hansen through a gap a mile wide for a walk in try! yet it didn't get put down as an assist!

Theres been other occasions aswell.

It depends on whether the pass causes the try or whether the player who receives the ball does something himself. Any step, change of angle or wrestle to get the ball down means it wasn't the work of the last passer.

It's stupid the way they do it in football where the last pass is classed as an assist. So if you roll a 5 yard pass to Ronaldo in midfield and he leathers it in, you get an assist.

Thanks for that I'll bear it in mind in future.

Lauitiiti V Wigan (at Headingley) drew the defence for him to pop the ball over the top to Hall for a walk in. Diskin's short run and pass from dummy half put Webb over unopposed V Huddersfield (similar to the NickyKiss Tomkins example.) Both were what I would consider classic 'Try Assists' but both were ignored by Opta on the SL website.

Earlier in the season Paul McShane executed two (as near) identicle plays to offload to Lee Smith V Celtic and Ryan Hall V Hull KR. The first he got the assist for but not the second.

Rob Burrow's 40/20 V Wigan being given to Ian Kirke(like two peas in a pod) still irks.
