Well so far I have had no response from Langtree.... I might try the club but I am sure they will refer me to Langtree. Sadly the OJEU notice gave no further insight.

However from the quote about 'estimated costs' this would seem to suggest that they are tendering on an incomplete design from a detail perspective as if the detailed design was completed then a fixed/firm price could be obtained. Maybe they are utilising some kind of early contractor involvement and then use the contractors expertise/knowledge to work up final details. This could be on some kind od Agreed/Guaranteed Maximum Price rather than a fixed/firm price that may have been obtained in final detailed designs were complete and a bill of quantities produced.

All a bit of conjecture without further details.

This is what many of us have suspected, and a few hoping the format of the standing and seating areas might be looked at again as a result.

If the stadium can't be all-seater, as I believe it should be, then standing behind the posts is a happy compromise. I hope we don't end up with a big messy side-stand of terracing like Warrington have got, leaving the stadium looking out of date before it even opens.

:? why would standing at the side be a "big mess"??

Personally I think that a layout similar to at the Halliwell Jones would be ideal giving people the choice of standing or sitting AND behind the sticks or at the side. It doesn't seem that is going to happen but at least there is going to be a standing option.

The standing is a section behind both sets of posts with seating behind them (ala Salford) it gives the people from both sets of fans the chance to sit or stand and should be great for match banter and singing. Fantastic design.

seems like the stadium design has been altered somewhat as original plans showed essentially two terraces behind the goal.

If we now have double tier stands behind both goals i think it will make Saints ground look more original than the standard mfi bowl we see shooting up everywhere
