I thought the rumour going round on here a few weeks back was that you lot are getting Danny Brough next season?

With his problems at Wakey and the news today about Long maybe theres more to the rumour?

Let's see what both are doing in say ten years time. One I suspect will be the "forgotten man" the other will be Shaun Edwards.

I'll put a note in my outlook calender to remind you. As Saints will probably be non entities by then you'll more than likely be supporting Warrington.

After watching the Leeds cup game, i'd say wilkin could help out at 7 if needed. It might have been a one off game, but then again it might not

IN 2011 he'll be 29 going on 30. His NRL and international career will be over. You really think he would put the effort in that would justify the SL record wages he'd demand?

IMO he's just using it to bump up his last NRL contract as so many have done. With the exchange rate and the closing of the offshore payment scam (Which IMO is going to bite us on the a$$) SL is not the financial lure it once was.

Edwards is one of the most OVERRATED players in the history of the sport. His success was built on the backs of better players. When he went to Australia in his prime he couldn't get in the first team. When he left Wigan he was no great shakes.

Anyone could look good in a team containing Offiah, Hanley, Iro, Connolly, Gregory, Skerrett, Platt etc.

He is 27 NEXT year so in 2011 he will be 28 and still have at least 3 yrs as a top 7

I would have to agree. Edwards was overrated. He was a good player, and was a terrific leader, organiser and support player. He even improved his game over time. However although he squeezed the full amount of potential he had, he didn't have that much natural talent (as a scrum half). I always got the impression he was a stand off playing out of position.

A very good player, yes. World class, no.
