I heard that they approached him but got a bit nervous so didn't end up asking him out after all. Maybe they'll get a mate to do it later

i heard today myler from wire coming to saints this week,now dont shoot the messenger im just letting you lot know what i heard today.....lets just wait and see ???? i think it could be a positive,hes still young and learning his trade at 7 but he not a bad player ????

Lomax is a better 7 and on far less money, and without a history of leaving his club for bigger money/glory offers

to be fair the first part was more important, Myler has done very little at 7 for wolves, so little they've kept Briers on for another year

Lomax is not a better 7 than Myler at all. Lets face it Lomax at 7 has as much of a history as Jon Wilkin at 7, only he did his wonder show in a more important game than Lomax.

Lomax is a future 6 or 1 for Saints. He should IMO be given the fullback shirt at the end of the season when we sign a half back. Or the 6 shirt if Leon goes.

The rumour is an interesting one. But:

a) Why would Myler want to sign for St Helens? - He is a regular starter for the Wire at 7, they are a better team than us and with the next 3 or 4 year pretty much guaranteed to be successful

b) Why would Warrington let Myler 'come to Saints'? He is their regular starting 7 and to let him leave would probably see Monaghan move from 9 to 7. This is where it used to fall down for them as he is far better at 9.

The ONLY way I can see anything in this is if Warrington had pulled another stonking NRL signing out of the bag. But how could they given they are surely at the quota and we would surely be in a stronger position

He's done enough for a young up and coming player, similar to how Long played for us when he first came in, but against better defences. Their problem will be if he doesn't progress, in a similar vein to McGuire who I don't think has stepped up like he could have done.

Briers resigning is probably more to do with there being a dearth of good half backs available.
