At the moment i am torn between his defense and attack, in his first year Matt started slow but his defense was solid, now with a years experience in super league his attack is very good, but overall I would rate his defence his main attribute.
What you Reckon??????

Gidley's biggest strength is that he doesn't really have a weakness.
To answer your question though, while his defence is fantastic, I'd be inclined to say his attack is where he really excels. Basically every time we get a 2 on 2 down the right we score.

I would say that he is the most well rounded centres in SL.
His ability to step off his left and get outside his opposite number leaves the winger in no mans land. Scored 2 and provided the final pass for one, cant really ask for more.
Defensively, very solid and often makes try savers.
You can see why he has been one of the most well respected players in the NRL for years. Gasnier rates him as the best centre he has ever played against. That pretty much speaks volumes.

Good answer. His all-round game is superb, there isn't a weakness in him.

lack of pace.
Other than that, I'd agree.

Correct.
If he had pace, he would be the best centre in the world. I still think that Lyon is the better of the two if we are talking Saints centres of recent times.
A Paul Wellens with pace would be a superstar as well, but sadly we'll have to make do with what we have.

Yes but he has plenty of pace between the ears and that is equally important
