Slick Mick really has this working wonderfully. I have almost stopped panicing when we get an overlap on, especially on the left hand side (Gilly's side) because the player invariably ends up stopped.

Now, to work on defending kicks through.

I would not agree with that at all. We are looking weak out wide this year.

When teams move the ball wide we don't look organised as we should be.

IMO the reason for this is the 2nd rows. With wilkin at scrum half, gilmour now in the centre the stand in 2nd rows are yet to fit 1100% into are sliding defence.

Yet with defence has prob won us are last 2 games.

I totaly agree. Defensivly we are as solid as i have ever seen us but against kicks we were awful last night at times. Gardner's positional play last night was shocking at times.

I think you have to give credit to the teams we have played against. Sometimes our ability to stop the offloads exposes us in the centres but the scrambling defence has covered that in the last few weeks.
The way we are working for each other in defence is awsome.
That said i thing they made more breaks up the middle last night.

Saints defence has been very strong since DA sorted it.

Just think at mo we looking bit weak out wide with Leeds and wigan Avin big overlaps.

I think that's why we avin problems defending kicks. When Gardner drops back we don't seem to have the numbers outwide.

It will be alot better when flannery and wilkin r back defending outwide.

We also miss longs defence out wide.

Pitch looked huge last night and we did look exposed out wide.

We defended about 30 tackles on our own line, and we covered well when the ball was swung out wide.

But the point being made is that your defence is coping with the overlaps. Look at the possible 12 points saved against us last week with last ditch efforts. Its your defence that is winning the games at the moment and you are making decent attacking plays look poor because of it.

If we was up against a class fast centre last night I don't think we would have won last night.

The overlaps was huge at times but we did cover pretty well but can't cover like that every week.

IMO are outside defence being out numberd is the reason we don't defend kicks very well and teams know this.

In the first half especially, Hock bombed a few overlaps down the Gidley/Gardner side.
