I know it's difficult, but can we try to avoid the knee-jerk reactions?
Some points:
- Wigan were a better team than us on the night, they were absolutely outstanding and we were well below par
- We had a bad day at the office, but to an extent, our inability to make yards, and break/make tackles, was due to the level of enthusiasm and commitment from Wigan. Their spirit was outstanding - brilliant line-speed and aggression all night.
- We are still a good team.
- Mick Potter is still an excellent coach.
- We are still top of the league.
- We are still in the hunt for honours.
Cliché time, Super League is a marathon, not a sprint. Tonight was extremely deflating but these things happen. Never mind "Potter out," "we r 5hit lolz!" Wigan just had more desire and wanted it more on the night. Good luck to them. I'm still more than confident we'll be in the final mix-up when it comes to silverware, and I'm confident we'll give a better account of ourselves when we get them back to KR at the end of July.
Stick the Leeds CC game on DVD, grab a beer, and try to forget tonight and remember what our team is capable of.
