I'm really quite bored, so i was comparing Warrington props with ours as they keep bigging them up, and they do seem to be playing well. I've added Cloughy as we have been using him as a 3rd prop.
Some interesting stats if you're the type (I am) and some surprises
Mtr/carry total mtrs Tackles
Morley 8.24 2415 382
Carvell 8.21 1831 277
Rauhihi 8.03 1551 223
Wood 6.90 1644 413
H'reaves 7.04 1282 372
Graham 7.25 3206 415
Clough 8.32 2174 463
Maurie 8.22 1768 282
Puletua 8.81 2026 363

IMO Graham needs less game time but due to cayless being out, thats not really possible. Brynn's been a bit of a dissapointment this season, i was hoping he'd do better esp with cayless out. Cloughy has been amazing. Maurie seems to be getting better each game.
The warrington forwards do look to pose a big threat. Should be a good one!

Added Wood and Tony P

no suprises there, pal. Since Wood's returned to fitness and they've drafted in Carvell, its stopped defences being able to concentrate on shutting down Morley.

For me, Wire have got the best set of 4 props in the league, especially given Cayless is always injured.

I've added wood, but he's definitely their 4th prop, good tackler though.
I actually think we are going to struggle in the forwards this weekend, maybe we need to play tony p at prop, i prefer him at 2nd row, but needs must

This is were i worry.

Saints game is very much like the Bradford plan A of old, eg route 1 RL straight down the middle and steamroller the oppostion.
I doubt we will be able to do this against wire, were imo the packs will cancel each other out. It therefore comes down to the backs and in that regard i think wire have a massive edge, especially with the likes of Long and Gidley being out.
A look at their backline shows pace throughout, and if we go into game with Flannery and Dean in the centres i just dont see us being able to outflank Wire.
Our kicking game will also be disrupted. Our primary kicker Long is out and Wilkin our secondary kicker is also likely to be out, so kicking will be down to Pryce who is a poor kicker, Roby an occassional though good kicker and Eastmond who is inexperienced though does possess a good peg.

A lot of our players i feel will therefore need to dig deep to win this game.
I really do believe that a win at dire will be up there with our victory in the cup at Leeds.

If we can hold out while Morley and Carvell are on the pitch, we should edge ahead the rest of the time, wih Grahams extra staying power helping us pull through.

With the andersons and sloth in the back row, its a pretty fierce pack that the wolfs have.

Its the reason why they keep scrapeing wins, nothign spectacular from the backline, but the forwards keep busting people up and the rotation of the 4 big guys week in , week out has helped the wire lot.

Big test for them against our wakened, fatigued, back to back to back year after year non stop players.
