What can fans do in their spare time now that the season is over? My suggestion and particularly for older fans is to consider writing a fictional novel that is loosely based on what you know about your own family history and in which the main character is a Saints fan! Not only have I now written six novels all set in a fictional town set a few miles east of St Helens in a series that starts during the winter of 1962/63, I have also written three pages of advice aimed at encouraging others do something similar.
