I really do hope we retain BJ, he has been a consistent performer this season and is sitting near the top of the opta stats for try assists.

My worry is that if we do sign Craig Wing we let Jeffries go, IMO Jeffries and Wing could make a very dangerous combination at half back. The problem is that Jeffries is out of contact next year and Deacon is not.

The powers that be seem to see something in Deacon that no-one else does, apart from his goal kicking he is our weak link..

Thoughts?

It's possible that Wing is the intended replacement for Newton, not Jeffries.

Jeffries was supposed to be in negotiations weeks ago but there hasn't
been any anouncements from the club.Lets hope they don't lose Jeffries because they are trying to buy Wing.Jeffries has played well this year so far and I think Wing is more of a hooker than a stand- off.

Even so, players like to get their contracts sorted and Jeffries isn't going to wait around for Mcnamarra to make up his mind.He would be a big loss to the club.It's good to have some top quality in the team but sometimes it's the general workers,the quiet achievers that make it a great team,which we are starting to achieve.

BJ's deal maybe sorted for all we know. The club (quite rightly) tend to drip feed the positive announcements over the season.

If he is to replace Newton, then I hope we're in the market for another HB, we need 3 there minimum
