For me it would do two important things for us in regards to finance.

1. This guy would be the "marquee player" we have been looking for and someone who will certainly make us money in the club shop in merchandise, assuming, of course, that they do not run out of letters W.I.N and G. He should also put some more bums on seats.

2. It would shut up those from other clubs who know our finances inside out and keep telling us that we are completely skint.

But would this make up for the money spent at the hotdog/burger stalls around the gorund by Solomona? Without him they will not survive and we will lose the pitch money from each stall.

Judging by your avatar they won't have any difficulty finding a replacement

thats my problem with that combo. It means we're still stuck with deacon in a starting spot and on recent form he isnt worth it.

Hope this signing comes off. It's quality players we need, also hope we keep Ben Jeffries.

1. I bet he is costing us around the same in salary as Deacs.
2. We don't need three out and out half backs, we need somebody who can cover that position in an emergency, hence the cheap option and not three high profile big money players. Cover doesn't need to be established players, Rinaldi would be fine for cover, like he is now.
3. We dont have a clue who will be taking who's wage. But I'd reckon on that Glenn Hall was a replacement for Solomona, probably not as expensive though, but I can't see much savings on salary there. As for Tupou's wage, do you really think he will have been on a lot? I don't.

If we release BJ, and sign Wing and Rinaldi, then of course we are better than we are this season.

We went into this season with, Jeffries and Deacs as 6 & 7, with no cover there, if we brought Wing and Rinaldi in for next season then we would have Wing and Deacs, with Rinaldi as cover for there positions, and he can also cover 9 aswell in case of injury to Newton or Godwin.

But Jeffries has been playing very well this year for us, whilst Deacon has been a passenger for the most part. I see your point in that Wing is a better stand off than BJ but I think BJ could do us a job at 7 also. I do not think it is unrealistic to have Deacon, BJ and Wing in one side.

Also I bet Tupou was on a fair salary, I doubt he'd have upped sticks and come to SL for peanuts.

he would be because BJ is a halfback who weve played at standoff ( with a few exceptions when deacons been injured, and its no coincidence that he's looked much more comfortable in those games)

Finally, was just gonna say why can't Wing play 7? Jeffries has said himself he prefers stand off so leave him there.

For me its simple.

6. Jeffries
7. Wing

No Deacs, sorted.
