Sorry if this is similar to other threads but I am a narcissistic clown and I wanted to start one of my own! (I am sure it will be merged anyway!)

Anyway. Hi all. Been a while.

Planning a few days down in the Abu Dhabi of West Yorkshire soon and I will be looking to visit the rugby league Taj Mahal to take in a game or two.

How are we looking for the season. I am ashamed to say that my knowledge of RL at lower levels is not the best and I am interested to see how people think we will go this season? Is it worth parting with some of my Scottish fivers in order to be entertained? Or is it another season of mediocrity beckoning?

Well mate I think we'll do better than last year. Think anywhere between 3rd and 8th is possible. I'd hope for top 5 but it depends if the fine talk of the pre season translates into actual deeds on the pitch.

Welcome back Eddie. Hopefully you can stay around for some chats throughout the season.

I’m much more optimistic today than I thought I would be. A lot of changes in personnel but I’d say most are for the better. I think we will be better than last year which hopefully gives us a bit more entertainment as last year was so so bad at times. I don’t think we will be good enough to be in the proper conversations at the top of the tree but playoffs should be the aim.

Huge concerns over the wingers for me. How we are starting the season with only 2 wingers on the books is utter madness.

Foggy was 3/4 th choice last year. Blackmore playing in a team that got relegated. Now all of a sudden they are both 1st choice at a team who have openly admitted top 4 is the requirement this season.
Seams to me like a mirror image of last years full back situation.

Pretty happy with the rest of the squad. Got to say the players thay have come in are better than those disgraces that have been shown the door.
Id like another prop. But it looks like we might be seeing a few on duel reg. Overall much more positive than recent years.

One final thing, please please can we have a clean bill of health for Jack Walker!

Our weaknesses last year were getting bullied in the forwards, especially at Odsal, lack of creativity in the halves, lack of threat from FB and a perceived lack of intensity/enthusiasm.
I think we’ve fixed all those. From the first round, Fev and Toulouse still seem head and shoulders above everyone so it’ll be interesting to see how close to them we can get
