Leavers report: Turry Newton : Wed Jul 22, 2009 8:28 am
Well friends how do we think he has performed at the Bulls over the years he has been here, and compared to stints at other clubs. Please vote and contribute to the discussions!!!

IMO he could have been a lot better, but has steered us around well for the most part but getting on in years means the fitness is going.

Also has Macca coached the aggression out of him? Apart from getting bitten by friend Stanley he does not seem to do the niggle anymore. We signed the bone breaker of Sintellins but he did not turn up on the park :(

It is sad to say but Cunningham gives more biff these days

So I voted D.

Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

E - a shadow of his former self:
Definately lost his aggressive edge, whether it's because he's mellowed with age, or Mac has coached his aggression out ( judging by what some say Mac couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag ). IMO Newton played his best rugby quite a few seasons back.

He always seems to save his worst games when playing Wigan.

He rarely runs the ball anymore.

Loved him for most of his time here but has not been at the races this season. Time for him to move on, would have liked a british replacement but Le Strange is good option IMO

Not trolling here but playing for Bradford just didn't seem to mean as much to him as playing for Wigan did(much in the same way as Fielden the opposite way round). He looked to have some good games for you but the passion and the niggle just didn't seem to be there.

I think the face busting antics against Saints whilst at Wigan came more from the fact he was overly passionate about that game then him being a dirty player. He wanted to win that game more then any other and he let his passion get the better of him sometimes.

A superb player for Wigan but only a decent player for Bradford is how i've seen it.

I voted C - a good body to have around. lots of experiance and can get the forwards going. Sadly more recently its only when he's been bothered.

I pretty much agree with this. He has been a good but not great player for us. When seeing him at club functions he never seemed comfortable or particulary willing to interact with the fans. Never really looked happy.

Started well enough with us but has got worse as his time has wore on.

Now a bit inconsistent and too prone to doing his own thing regardless of what is good for the team.

I can see why he's been allowed to leave, however I still remain to be convinced that L'Strange is a good replacement.

I don't think thats anything to do with him being uncomfortable around Bradford fans or the club. He'd be the same at a Wigan function or fans day imo.

Met him a couple of times through work and he seemed a nice enough lad but quite shy.

Nothing like i'd have expected him to be after watching him on the field.
