You seem to be missing the point of my post.

Nowhere have i said we have a squad with the quality of 2005 (I dont think any team now matches that squad), and nowhere did i say we would end up winning the GF this year.

My point was that I think our poor form is down to so many players being uncertain of where they will be playing next year.

No mate.. This year they just aren't good enoug. In 2005 injuries were bad at start of season but i think most fans knew we had a good squad capable of causing damage in the playoffs. This year it's still a question if we will get into the playoffs.

Plus our big mid-season signing that year was Morley, a then world class forward.

After watching Morley demolish Wigan the other night I would say he is probably still the most destructive forward in SL.

I wouldn't call Morley a mid-season signing he only played in 5 games.

And he did very little in them. We would have been better keeping Lynch in the side.

The signing that got us going that season was Hendo.

Back to this season, I do think we need a signing to get us going again, Rinaldi has done fine, but I do think we need to freshen the competition in the backs

Although I think Morley didn't make that much of an impact, a couple of big runs at OT aside, how exactly would we have been better? We went on a long winning run and won the title did we not?

Lynch was also a different player the next season, reacting the right way to what happened and kicking on.

Bringing new people in would be good. Unfortunately fitting them under the cap may pose a problem!

Greg Bird wouldn't have been coming cheap.
