Cars are fine, I live locally and have not heard anything about any spate of break ins. I park near the ground all of the time without problem.
If you go past the ground (100 yds) to the lights and turn left you can park on your right without problem (dont park in Tesco's or Wickes car parks unless you want a guaranteed ticket).
