Eddie, I just want to stress that I'm not looking for a battle, an argument or to wind anyone up - I really don't come on here for that, more for debate and gossip.
It's just that my point seems to be summed up by Adeybull apparently doing nothing more than agreeing with me and then you apparently mocking Adeybull for that.
I can't say that I feel hugely positive at the moment about my club and seeing the worst season since I was doing my GCSEs, but I do think that people are too quick to criticise, too quick to mock and too reluctant to look for the good in situations. Yes, I understand why and it is easy to get frustrated and angry, but I've tried to suggest some positives and I really don't think they're unreasonable. That was what you asked for in the thread wasn't it?
I do not think you were unreasonable in the slightest. However, that is now the third time this week that Adey has made the same post in an effort to wind me up and I was mocking him for not only being somewhat repetitive, but failing miserably in succeeding in his feeble attempt to wind me up.

Getting his own material would be good too.
My apologies, I didn't realise that there was more to it than that.
However, if there is a definite PT/NT split then don't you want to respond to my coment which is still one of the only legitimate ones to your ersonally instigated thread? Isn't debate what we're all here for?

There are plenty of positives to take from this season, such as the growth of Dave Halley as a player, the signing (and re-signing) of Steve Menzies, the highly astute signing of Michael Worrincy, signing Nick Scruton and the wins over Saints and Leeds.
Clearly there are a number of things that could have gone better and if we'd converted even half the number of games we lost be one score we'd be significantly better off. Changes need to take place, but they need to be well thought out and planned over the next six months, not a knee jerk fall of the axe on anyone's head.
I believe we have the overall structure in place to deliver this and whether the coach stays or goes, we will be stronger in 2010. I am not close enough to the action to judge this effectively and neither is the vast majority of people who post on this board.
I'm in the Positive Tendency because my club needs my support most of all right now.
I'm not in the either, there are a number of positive and negative things happening/happened at the club recently. Andy Lynch and David Halley re-signing for the club being example of positive, and the coaching staff being unable to correct weekly errors from their players being a negative.
I do however feel that Steve and his men have had their chance to build and put their influence on the team and I do believe they have failed to improve us or even hold the fort. It's time for a change in my opinion, but that doesn't make me negative.
Where is this going . . . . . no really . . . . . just were.
If it's simply about "I was right" / "other were wrong", then nowhere really.
Someone convince me not to lock it as simply a pi**ing contest that will only serve to be taken as personal attacks, on all sides.
(. . .and "Yes", I am having a bad day)
Although I agree it started as you suggest, this thread has now seen at least 2 people who have otherwise been quite negative about things open up to at least a nod towards what could be a brighter future, even if in hope ahead of expectation. Surely a result befitting of the thread's title and a reason to let it run?
It probably won't last anyway......

It's just an ME self-congratulation thread, and quite nauseous.
I prefer not to get involved, but instead on the nub of the OP I will say that as a member of the so-called Positive Tendency I personally don't see the point in looking at the negative of ANY situation, I find it is far better to face it, get over it, and look at positives to come out of it. So the PT is a state of mind, an approach to the problem, a recognition that not everything in life will always be rosy.
That's why, as ever, I'll be following the Bulls next year, and hope to see the bright lights shining and emerging through the gloom and muck and bullets.

I'd regard myself as PT although I am not a fan of Macca as head coach.
I see lots of things to be concerned about at the moment but I also see lots of reasons to be positive about the future beyond the end of this season.
Among these are: - a genuine pipeline in place for youth, - a core of quality in our squad (irrespective of who is coaching them,) - an apparent clearout starting of some (albeit not all) of the players that we've all been criticising for the last couple of seasons, - the most promising looking Odsal project ever, - with every day that passes we are one day closer to the end of Michael Platt's bizarre 3 year extension.
Yes, you can turn each of those round and sneer at them but I think that is basically the PT/NT divide isn't it?
I don't understand a) people who regard everything that the club say to be either inadequate or part of an arch and wicked conspiracy to pull the wool over fans' eyes, or b) people who start new threads with the sole purpose of taking personal satisfaction for saying 'I told you so' or else just cutting and pasting the same sarcstic / nihilistic comment that they made elsewhere.
What a great post. May you live long, and prosper. This poster has indeed summarised the difference between the PT and the NT in a very neat nutshell.
