I think the main problem with Jeffries is the way that he seems to drift out games easily, especially when things aren't going his way. There's actually been a few games where I've had to check to see if he's even on the field
Until he can stamp his authority on games, literally 'take a game by the scruff of the neck' then he'll always be a bit of luxury player to me - someone who'll occasionally do something really good, or score a great try, but doesn't really do a proper playmaker job for the team.
Now this may be something to do with the overall shape of the team or the tactics employed. I don't think it helps him that Deacon isn't anywhere near the level he used to be - so he's often getting scrappy passes or being put into situations where he's too much under pressure. If he was playing outside a really good scrum half he might look better as a No 6?
