Here's my take on it. Rugby League is a family sport and is marketed as such. What Beaumont does not quite understand, clearly, through his vocabulary and behaviour. Is that young people and even children are brought to matches. His behaviour in close proximity, could be said as distressing and even frightening to some.
In his elevated position with the club, He has a responsibility to be more of a role model and be a shining example in representing his club and Rugby League in this country as a whole.
Sadly his rather inflated Ego prevented him from issuing an apology for his behaviour. People would think a great deal more of him had he done so.
I did not go to the match on that day (Working)) However the fact that the Leigh Fans, as I understand it, were on the whole Brilliant has some what saved his face.

I didn’t hear what was said nor am I trying to condone it, as I have no doubt he has quite rightly been found guilt and punished accordingly.
And although he may not have got down on bended knee and begged for complete forgiveness and claimed that he was provoked, but he did apologise a few days after the event.
He said: “I do not wish to be drawn on the situation as it is currently under investigation, other than to say I have never been treated in such a manner in my life, let alone during my time in Rugby League.
“I rose to the bait. I should be better than that and I apologise to anybody who witnessed that, as it is not my persona."
