Where has this 'rfl didn't sanction the takeover' come from?
All parties who made bids for the club passed the rfl's fit and proper persons test. That is as far the rfl's involvement goes.
Mark Moore and co withdrew their offer to buy the club, it wasn't a case of the rfl blocking it.
They just threw the toys out of the pram when the points deduction was announced. Whether they were justified in doing that or not is open to debate.
It does frustrate me a little that the administrator is getting so much flak. He's not interested in running a successful business, he just wants to recoup money for his creditors. It's not his fault that this company has landed back on his doorstep, a week after he thought he had completed his job.
If Moore and co took their punishment, the only discussion we would be having would be if we could avoid the drop with the players we had at our disposal. From a personal point of view, I actually thought we could have done it.
4 days later, we're now asking if we could avoid the drop, now without our best forward, a company that has no owner, and a squad of players that don't know where their next pay is coming from. I'm a little miffed that the owners decided to throw a tantrum, even if we did get relegated, it would have been nice to know that these guys were in it for the long run. Looking back, i'm quite glad that we realised now that these individuals couldn't stick at it when the going got tough. Lets have an owner that will stick with us through the good and the bad.
