Grattan Stadium & Provident Stadium in recent memory. But in all honesty, even while it's been called those, has anyone referred to it in conversation as anything but Odsal? Does anyone call Bradford City's ground the Northern Commercials Stadium? Or previously the Bradford & Bingley Stadium or Coral Windows Stadium? No, it's Valley Parade.

Naming rights are only for the media, who have to refer to it as that. Fans will always call it Odsal. If someone wants to throw money at the club to put their name on the ground, bloody well let them!

I tend to agree - in fact some sports fans go out of their way to protect their beloved stadium name. There was practically a riot in Newcastle after St James Park got renamed the Sports Direct Arena for a short time!

If it meant a stable and successful club, they could call the stadium "everyone in here is a nonce" and I'd be fine with it.

And everyone STILL referred to it as St James Park.

I couldn't give a monkey's what the stadium is called as long as we've got a stadium, a successful team to play in it and the club is based in Bradford

I think they covered that when a vote renamed the terracing in the Southwest corner of the ground, "The Northern Terrace".

Not sure how much truth there is in it, but I've been speaking to someone this morning well in with Park Avenue who is 100% sure that Chris Caisley's backer is Gareth Roberts.

Whilst the bloke I was talking to isn't an RL fan by any stretch, he is usually privy to a lot of the Avenue goings on, so I'm inclined to believe him.

I like the sound of Caisley and Roberts. Let's be honest, whether we think Caisley is a total asshat or not, he delivered massive success. His big problem was that he burned through the cash too quickly. If Roberts could solve that with oodles of cash, then why not?

I'm also happy with the prospect of Irvine backed with Madjeski's money.

Either of those will do

I am of the same opinion although a lot would depend on how bothered Roberts is about the Bulls? Is it just a means to an end to find BPA a new home? We know where we stand with Caisley though. I'd hope that he wouldn't be involved if he didn't think that they had the proper backing.

I like the sound of Irvine given his track record at Cronulla of taking a club on it's uppers and getting it to a position of strength, although then subsequently f**cked up by someone else!!

To be right, I've moaned long and hard about what happened at the back end of CC's previous reign, but I'm quite cool about the possibility of him returning.

I know mistakes were made and, I'd guess, so does he and given that he's clearly an intelligent bloke, I'd be pretty gobsmacked if he hadn't learnt a few lessons as he's gone through life and the same mistakes shouldn't be repeated. In any case, as part of a group, or consortium, he won't be the king figure he was before, and hopefully, there may be more scrutiny of what is going on in the boardroom than there appeared to be in the early noughties.

I have no problem at all with Caisley coming back either, but given the be-all and end-all of taking us forward is surely wealth, frankly it’s the source of that which is of most interest to me rather than the ‘face’ of the consortium.

if Odsal ends up developed as a result and it stops being the millstone it currently is, I wouldn't be too upset by that. So long as BPA are in with the Bulls, it would be in his interests to keep them going?
