2 month deal makes good sense and should avoid us having to rush anyone back from injury. If Deacon's been playing all season with a nagging injury let him get fully fit rather than throwing him back in as seems to have been done with Solomona through necessity.

Absolutely, I did notice that.

However I think he'll prove himself to be good enough and get a longer contract, at which stage we'll lose the cash to spend on someone good. I vote ditch the Deacon.

Don't forget that Deacon comes with a £50k supplement to the salary cap, so if, IF...we are at the cap (or will be) then Deacon is better value than he might first appear.

He Is Australian. And I'm all for getting good english talent, or bringing through the youth. but it would be nice to bid for Campese? http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,865 ... 14,00.html out of contract at the end of the year. Not a regular for origin or australia national team. Might come over. Although its alot of money. Wonder if he would fit under the cap? If we offload our 'useless' players.

I did realise that indeed. Deacon is a huge value were we to lose him.
