At a guess he/she will of wanted it for £1 and then maybe or maybe not pay the debt off. Don't think it was ever going to get anywhere but I may be totally wrong as final bids have to be in tomorrow.

Yep, I'm taking all the gossip with a massive pinch of salt. It brings a brief bit of interest to the day to read it, but we've seen it all before unfortunately. I hope and pray something falls in our favour this time, but I'm still preparing myself to be underwhelmed. Sorry if that seems a little pessimistic.

After the last few years, I think it's very difficult to expect anything but the least favourable option.

I can't blame people for the pessimism.

But I do think that there have been positive signs that this Administrator has a much better handle on what is required to come up with a viable and long-term solution. There's been a lot of talk about long term plans, sustainability, avoiding the mistakes from last time etc etc

However, I think that the general pessimism shows that whoever takes over has some work to do to re-engage a somewhat 'world weary' set of supporters.

Whoever takes over I think that they may have a job on to try and get the fans back through the gate.

Most of us on here just want somebody who can run the club well but I don't think that will convince the stay away fans to return. It all depends what the new owners expectations are. Will they want to steady the ship and work with a self sustaining club and a 5k average crowd or do they want to return to 10k plus crowds? If it's the later then some stops will need to be pulled.

I agree Bullseye. It is just that I am concerned if became a bit of a "soul-less" arena for BPA if their crowds are reasonably small. (I don't know their average gate)

Still, best not speculate, there are a lot of Cowboys in Texas. ;-)

Not all apparently: earlier quote from BPA web page

In addition, with the club’s main benefactor Gareth Roberts over from the States this coming week, he has decided to arrange an informal social evening in the clubhouse for CBS members only for this coming Thursday (December 8).

This will not be a question and answer session, just an informal gathering in the clubhouse where all members will be entitled to two free drinks, courtesy of Gareth.

Could be another reason for this timely visit....

I don't get all this excitement over Gareth Roberts. Sure it appears he is minted but what has he done so far with the stans?
He's had the club going on over a year and I haven't seen much in top player recruitment and avenue are battling against relegation.
The bid by Irvine consortiun seems to me to be the most attractive. Money and a successful rugby league background.
Having said that it would be great if they could find a way to accommodate the stans as far as ground share and ground investment is cconcerned.

Im concerned the Roberts bid would be simply a way of securing a new ground for Bradford PA and isn't in the interests of the Bulls. This is after Ken Davy's involvement with Huddersfield Town.

Without boring people it didnt end well for Town. Although it is legitimate to say Davy did effectively save the club from liquidation.
