Wakey won't be spending any more now on their players than they were before. People seem to only look at signings and conveniently forget the players they released prior to signing anyone. Their wage bill now will either be less than the start of the season, or a similar level.
They have also just received a fee for Daniel Smith and brought Mullally in on loan, so again their finances are being well maintained.
They are run by an accountant, so what some people may construe as panic buying as we move into the playoffs is really just replacing those recently departed, probably with better players in my opinion.
They just need Brian Smith to work his magic and get them playing as a unit and, with a helpful hand from the salary cap disparity, they won't be going anywhere at the end of the season.
