As long as they use it to pay the bills, it'll be an improvement on some previous owners. If they didn't "invest" a single penny, but paid all the bills & wages on time, we'd be better off than we have been for years.

The problem is the richer the businessman, the shrewder his investment. Unless you have someone who's so in love with the club that he's willing to throw money around with gay abandon then you're looking at how the investment can work in the longer term. Clearly there are people with reasonable wealth interested in taking over but with a view to doing something with the ground that offers a tangible return. This may not be to the advantage of the creditors or indeed the team.

When you look at how much we are in the red now,
after effectively starting off on a level pegging 2 years ago with a reported parachute payment and middle 8's money from last year
where has the money gone????

Lower crowds and paying up to the salary cap with of a large squad of largely average players. Fairly easy to see where it's gone to be honest. Who's to blame for that is up for debate.

Considering the drop in quality since Ross left the T&A, I think he deserves to be cut some slack.

It's not Simon Parker's fault for the drop in quality either. As has been said, it looks like he's been asked to do Bulls as well as City, so it's hardly surprising he's just going to recycle stuff from other websites. He's not going to spend his day searching for info on the Bulls when his primary focus is and always has been the football.

Sign of the times with local (and indeed national) rags I'm afraid.

Have to agree the quality of articles have been very very poor (Not necessarily Simon Parker's fault) He's just copying and pasting rumours & hear say.

The lack or progress is now a worry for me, rumours of wealthy bidders only claiming to really look interested in ground and not club could be why we appear to have seen little movement and could explain delays
I don't see it been anything to do with the ground. It's a slow process.

I think the RFL are happy to see Odsal developed but not turned in to housing. That'd how I read it anyway.

Maybe I'm wrong, but who knows. We will find out in the coming days/weeks

I think the last thing the RFL want is it to be housing. Sounds more to me they just don't want to sell.

I also don't think it's taken a that long to be honest. Remember 2012? The time isn't the issue, it's about getting the RIGHT person. Get this one wrong and the club is dead and it really will be the final straw for the most ardent and loyal of fans.

As far as I understand it, the club has the same deal [apart from the amount they're paying for their secondary lease from the RFL], as they did from the Council, which leaves the club responsible for all basic maintenance and improvements / renovations.

I'm sure the council will help - as long as it doesn't cost them anything, and to be fair, they are under the cosh with finances right now, so any deal on the ground will need to be with private help and that will obviously be something which leaves a profit for the backers. However I do think our 'responsibility' for 'upkeep and renovations' does mean that we should have a free hand with the land that is currently contained within the lease. Neither the RFL nor council could really prevent a deal which protected rugby, even if that deal meant some land being used for other purposes, and there is no real reason why they would.

We shouldn't forget the lease is for more than a hundred years [iirc] so whatever it looks like in 2117 and beyond is not going to bother anyone in 2017. The Bulls, RFL and council may all have been consigned to history by then anyway.

The cat still isn't out of the bag with regards to who would run the club if Roberts got it? it said ties to ex players etc,
Do you think it would be Brian Smith???

Irvine is obviously involved in the Madjeski bid,

The man running the club is nearly as important as a wealthy backer....

We don't need the Steve Ferres school of thought that if you buy every player involved in championship Rugby there will be nobody left to play for anyone else, that way you'll win..ha

I agree with what your saying, but lets see who gets the club before worrying about who is going to run it, anything could happen and the 2 bidders could pull out at the last second!!

I would have thought any Billionaire could use that wealth to get an amateur club such as Bradford PA to the verge of league status. It's happened a few times.

So I question why Bradford PA aren't a bigger fish if the man who owns them is so utterly minted. And that then leads me to question why he'd put any decent money in the Bulls when he isn't even inclined to do so at his first love.

I would prefer the Madjeski/ irvine deal from what I've heard..
