Mick just Tweeted the following:

I've had it confirmed that Gareth Roberts has a meeting with Bradford Council and the RFL next month. Very smoke and mirrors at the minute.

If Roberts is still in the running, we could be in for a lot long administration.

Mick also tweeted the following:

It's on good authority that increasingly frustrated bidders have not been contacted by the administrators - despite making bids last week.

If the above is true this is becoming a fiasco.

If we don't have an licence from the RFL can we still play friendlies?

Might be something in that tweet, as BPA are to issue a statement surrounding Gareth Roberts apparent bid to buy the Bulls sometime this morning.

2015 - major missed opportunity, 2016 - stronger teams = harder task (no problem there then), 2017 - OMG What now!!!

However not quite as black and white. Is that pay 100% immediately or over a time period? Is that 6 points in Championship or 12 points in Div 1? What if you pay 50% of the debt is that still 12 points or a sliding scale between 6 and 12? Part of the problem is that the punishment is not clearly laid down.

Pretty sure their would be no penalty if placed in League 1. Go and read the RFLS Insolvency policy. RFL can'take make a decision on staggered payments as creditors have not been consulted and may knock back an offer like that anyway so how can the RFL possibly consider penalties other than those currently laid out until the administrator/bidders/creditors have done what is necessary.

Exactly. So now you see my point. The penalty is not clearly laid down as you originally said.

Even if the Pettit being on holiday thing was true, which I wouldn't believe anyway considering the source, it shouldn't make a big difference. It was always "joint administrators" anyway. Look back on a few previous articles and you'll see another name mentioned (although I can't be bothered looking for it). Pettit is just one of them and is considered "the administrator" because he's the one making the comments to the press.

Sensationalist b0llocks as usual.

Micks tweet just said away on holiday, didn't say anything about the duration of holiday or till after Christmas.

And I refer you back to last weeks post, It's all about the land, innit?

That odd line from Nigel in his interview this week about how Odsal is "the spiritual home of one club but is held in trust for the sport as a whole" seems to be the sticking point I think.

Remember back in 2012 there was all that stuff from the RFL about a national stadium? Are the RFL still thinking about developing Odsal for a National rugby League centre - stadium, offices, museum, England training pitches etc? With Bulls remaining as tenants?

The RFL would be getting a lot out of that deal. The Council & the Bulls (administrator currently, a new owner in the future) would balk at that sort of one sided deal. The RFL would have to concede a lot more.

The council want a 21st century community sports complex & pool to replace Richard Dunnes & some housing towards their Local Development plan & some profit.

What is a new owner left with? there's not enough slices of pie to go around.

Could this be maybe what Roberts is going to talk to the RFL and Bradford council about next month?

The biggest mistake of all was ever letting the RFL get their mits on Odsal,
It now seems to be the root of all the clubs problems, with no way of escaping as the RFL hold all the cards, they wouldn't let us play anywhere else as they would be stuck with a big useless stadium,

They wouldn't let anyone else make the money from developing it without their cut.

Rock and a hard place come to mind.
