What are the bids like from other interesting parties? For example, has Richard Lamb outlined any plans publically? If there is an alternative to the Koukash takeover I imagine the RFL will run with it. Nightmare scenario for them to have both Marwan and Mandy owning clubs.
Nightmare in some respects possibly, but surely offset by the blessed relief of not having to deal with us (micro manage in rfl parlance) for the forseeable and a stable club in the league.
There are no details of any of the other bids made public as far as Im aware. Lamb was using twitter as a soundbite platform, saying positive things without a hint of motive or financial backing, also now rumoured to involve Hood, so the RFL could be very wary. The Bradford Park Avenue bid with Ms Willey just seems like a bunch of chancers and publicity seakers to me, and they've said nothing publcally to change my mind. The Bradford City "bid" last time, and I suspect this time, was only a last chance safety net type of offer that they would only put forward ahead of liquidation. Omar's bid, who knows? Seems ludicrous on the face of it that the guy who ran up so much debt that it made him so ill he had to get out should want back in only months later. Him and Marc Greens bids presumably are only based on recovering monies, with rugby very much secondary.
The alternatives to Koucash might well be worst case liquidation or at best case revisting this all again next year with a third administration, so the rfl could well think they'd be better off with the devil they know, so to speak.
