"Sources close to the club" is a newspaper euphemism for someone at the club, though as 'the club' isn't actually running 'the club', what definite knowledge would anyone there really have about the background stuff anyway, apart from all the general unsubstantiated rubbish we all have to choose from, after all, surely the administrator wouldn't be telling tales out of school?

Maybe Andy W has just read a post from Reading Bullette and taken the musings as gospel?

It might seem like the administrator's decision is crucial to this but without the promise of transferring the licence by the RFL then surely any bid would be dead in the water as there would simply be no business to run.

The administrator may then have to say to the creditors that they are only likely to see some of their money if he accepts the bid which is preferred by the RFL even if it means delivering less to creditors.

The RFL would need to have compelling reasons not to give the licence to the administrator's preferred bidder though and I bet they're hating the Koukash situation at Red Hall, they'll be seething and desperately trying to find a loophole somewhere.

Correct. The RFL has said she is fit and proper-- first hurdle for a license passed. There seems no way they can say under the existing rules that there's a conflict of interest -- second hurdle passed.
So IF they refuse a license what reason can they possibly hope to use that does not attract immediate legal action?

I might be way off here, but didn't one of the interested parties wish to remain anonymous, I'm guessing that could have been Mrs Koukash, if so and she had remained anonymous until the end of the process, the rfl could have given their blessing to another bid without anybody ever being aware of Mrs k's interest, and thus no outcry from the fans etc.
If this was right it could be the reason why she has come out so publically now, because she's aware her bids not the preferred one.
