What a joke he was today, ably assisted by the equally inept in goal touch judge at the Rooley Lane end!

That was one of his better screw ups.

The way we performed or didn't perform in the first half is what cost us the game. Yeah I thought there was a Wigan knock on when the ref gave them the scrum but we should have scored at least one try in the first half. I thought Platty wasn't too bad for his first game back. Sheriffe and Worincey were poor and Cook should have come on a lot earlier.
On the plus side the 2 young lads looked ok when people weren't throwing passes in their face or on their toes. Still think we should have had 4 Props especially as Crossley was warming up. Good to see Lynchy getting spelled for longer.
All in all I didn't expect to win today but we didn't deserve to lose like that.

Off topic it was good to see us do our bit for the troops today and wouldn't mind seeing us do similar more often.

One other thing when Wigan scored off the alleged knock on from the kick off I thought the Ball Boy was first class. Pat Richards messed about for ages then gets on the Ball Boys case to hurry up. "What's up? Oh you want a ball! What this one? Come and get it then! Don't know what Silverback said to him but he deserves a pat on the back.

Right in front of me. Was certainly a bit of naughty gamesmanship from the ball-boy, and I'm not sure it needs encouraging...but at risk of sounding highly unprofessional - well played that lad. Maybe he told Silverdud what he thought of his refereeing too? We all did...

It was funny. Good lad. I hope he had a word with Silverwood too.

I see that O'Loughlin seemed to be allowed on for a chat with Silverwood at every opportunity. That could explain some of his decisions....

Maybe it was on the rare occasions when Forshaw was not coaching his team on the park or joining the line as he did on a number of occasions?

Obviously, no professional referee (or his boss) would be miffed at what was reported in the T&A (and then retracted) the other day, and allow that to influence his decisions - would he?

Silverwood has overtaken Alibert for the worst refereeing exhibition this season imo. 5 tries disallowed and at least 2 looked like they should have been to me. One Wigan try was from a certain forward pass and another was a bit dubious.

Well done to Godwin today, I thought he was outstanding (for the first time for us). Does anyone know why BJ wasn't playing?

Also whoever booed Hood if you post on here can I have your reasoning?

I'm sure he made a few tackles at one point.

Too right about that try. Miles forward from where I sat, which was across the park from it. But both sides were trowing forwards not picked up - just a pity - once again - that one in the opposition favour led to a try.

And too right about Hood (you talking about half-time?). People round me thought it was the troops being booed - could have led to some nasty incidents, misunderstandings like that. Don't think it would have upset me if there had been, to be honest, since it was extremely disrespectful to the guys in uniform. Where were these brave booers at the fans' forum?

Yeah at half-time. The boos and "Why don't you keep walking Hood ?". I think many of our "fans" don't realise what he has done to keep our club out of the $hit

A well-known and respected senior guy at the club said to me before the match that some people just don't want to listen. I suggested on one of the T&A Rantathons that maybe some people who are hacked off with the situation and want to know what really happened or is happening should have a chat with Duffy, or email Hood. Like they both said at the Forum, even... Provided the tone is reasonable and responsible, I'm sure they'd get a reasoned reply. OK, its bound to reflect the club position, but maybe some people just don't want to hear some inconvenient truths?

To be honest, although it tends not to achieve very much and serves usually only to make the booer feel better, its still someone's entitlement to show their feelings in that way if they so wish. But they picked a bloody inappropriate time to do it IMO.
