Tough place to go get a result, especially given we are in a patchy run of form. Needed a result as we have a tricky run of games heading into the play offs.

Disappointed to hear Brown might be leaving, thought the whole current ethos was around retaining and bringing back local lads who have come through our systems?

21 comments on this game. Really? The build up and the game its self. ???

After a performance like that and no one has been here to talk about the game?

Sad to say it but i think my time of posting maybe coming to an end.

The discussion has completely disappeared from here. Its no longer worth checking in .
I think this page is reflective of everything at the club off the field. The lads put it in week in week out. But everything behind the scenes is so far away from being 100%, no one sees to give a toss we have drifted to a mid table champ side off the field.

Todays following was pathetic. So many people.have lost interest. Thats the worst following we have ever taken to York by a long long way.
Interest in the club is waning. There is a hell of a lot of work to do to rebuild peoples faith

i may check back from time to time but ill no longer be a regular.

This week has been the straw that broke the camels back for me.

We will all stay bulls fans im sure.

Goodbye and goodnight :thumb:

Pollsters doing Excellent job - say recent polls.

Re: York (a) : Sun Aug 29, 2021 11:07 pm
That was close (possibly was) our strongest lineup. And it showed. Brough & Lilley work well together, we shook off an early injury and had control of that game. 2 errors invited pressure & tries from York after we had done the hard work and built a platform. But overall we had too much go forward for York, which allowed our halves time & space to dictate play.

Next week will be a cracker.
I know we’ve played Fev 3times and lost them all - but we only played one half back in all 3 of them. Also we lost a forward early on in the first 2 games which put us at a disadvantage. We’ve no excuses against the French.

Taking 1100 to York in these difficult Covid-19 times should be commended not criticised.

Especially when Salford vs Catalans only attracted 1,800 this week.

I would say interest in the game as a whole is waning. I can’t remember the last SL game I watched and I couldn’t name the top 5 sides in the competition or is it top 6.. I couldn’t even tell you the current format for deciding the Champions it seems to change that often now.

As for Bradford and this forum, well I guess a fair few people who attended might be making a weekend of it in York which might include a few posters on here. I would agree though that the club needs to find a way to engage more fans.

1100 is an extraordinary number for a team 4th in Championship with only an outside chance of promotion. Did Fev bring 300 to Odsal?

Good grief, 1800 to a SL game featuring the top side in the comp is the end of the professional game. Anybody trumpeting the advancement of Toulouse take note. How do you re-structure this?

Really enjoyed that game. We won the game up front despite losing a man early on and Brough pulled the strings expertly. York only had a brief spell in the second half and we never really looked like losing.

Thought Brough, Doyle and Crossley were all excellent. Our right side was very clinical too. On the negative side the two errors that led to tries immediately after we'd scored were shockers but we can irradicate those with a bit more concentration.

The news about Brown is interesting. If Pickersgill is off to Fev that leaves us short of a fullback. Thought he had a good game today apart from the horror missed tackle for the Kirmond try.

What's the Brown rumour? Where did it come from?

I’m not sure how many Featherstone supporters came to the game at Odsal because people could use the cash turnstiles, so it’s always difficult to make an accurate account.

The point I was trying to make was that 1100 supporters going to York yesterday is excellent considering what is happening elsewhere in the sport and the York supporters should equally be congratulated for turning up in big numbers.

The main stand at York holds just over 3500 and was 80% full with a further 400 in hospitality.

Without wanting to turn this into a Super League vs Championship debate, the crowd at York yesterday puts the crowds at some Super League games to shame.

In response to how you restructure this crisis for the sport, I'm not entirely sure. I feel too much irreversible damage has been done since the Super League split at Salford three years ago and no matter what remodelling structure the sport decides to agree on we are still drinking in the last chance saloon with the potential threat of Sky walking away for good almost certain.
