Not quite sure how you've come up with that conclusion. We've signed a young winger who has scored 24 tries in 38 appearances in SL. Who were you expecting? State of origin standard?. We are currently a championship team.
Ok Ryan isn't really better than what we've got, but lets be honest, out of all the short term signings, us, wakey, KR, and Leigh have made, are they any real quality ones? Possibly only Locke is any good.

Fact is we're a championship team and we don't know where we're playing next year. Quality players are going to be hard to come by. Even those who are free agents, they will hang fire before signing for teams.

Am I the only one who is most excited by Ryan out of the two signings? From what I had seen of him he was probably one of Wakefields stand out forwards last year. Seem to recall he scored a try or two against us as well. You could argue that we aren't exactly short in the back row but he's a good quality player and if we pick up a few knocks in the pack we might well be thankful to have some quality depth to call upon. I'm sure we were all hoping to see a halfback, but realistically there probably isn't much out there worth signing.

To add two players with SL experience at this late stage to bolster our squad until the end of the year surely can't be something to be underwhelmed about?

Also great to hear that Gaskell, Siejka and Mullaney are all fit again and back in training.

Just doesn't scream aspirations to me, getting a couple of players we already have more than enough cover for, might just be me, was thinking they are more likely replacements for some players we may lose.

James Clare is a classy player - he played a huge part of our season last year (in a side who hit top 4 and was 1 win away from LLS... don't underestimate him, he's a top SL player!) I'm very sad to see him leave Cas.

He's also got loyalty coming out of his ears - he'll do a great job for you. Knows his way to the try line.

Very pleased with the Clare signing. Very fast winger with decent hands, looking forward to seeing him play.
I suspect this means that we'll be releasing either Uaisele or Ulugia (or both) for next season. I guess I can't really argue with swapping ageing overseas for young and british.

The Ryan signing is a bit puzzling though. Only until the end of the season so at leasy he should be motivated - even if it's only to put himself in the shop window for other clubs. As others have said though, we have plenty of backrowers already, and almost all of them are better then Matt Ryan.

Im disapointed to see Clare leave but can understand why.
His form last season was excellent. He was very unlucky to miss out on a place in our side at Wembley aswell. Carney had suspensions nearly every other week and he pushed Clare out for the final. I would have prefered Clare to have played. This season he started well and if i remember started a move down our wing for a great try against Salford earlier in the year but he made a few errors and couldnt find his way back in the team. He is a good try scorer though, has really good pace when given space, can finish tries very well (seem to remember a fantastic score against Wire last year on sky) and always gives 100%. Young aswell so always time to improve.

Was roofaldo but he posted before the realease think he meant hoping for 2 players who can improve us not what we actually received

Genuinely surprised at Matt Ryan, I too remember him playing well for Wakefield but it seems that was last year. It's clear Karl Davies has been deregistered. Clare I'm chuffed about, and a deal that goes into next year too. What this can mean is what needed to happen at the beginning of the season, slim Addy down and retrain him into a genuine half, Pitts has loose forward sewn up all day long.
