For our backs - Henry & Shaw have gone. Purts, Blythe and Neilsen (he staying?) are our centres. Uaisele and Ulugia are surplus to requirements - whether we can move them on is another matter entirely. Mendeika is a utility back, with centre his preferred position I think. So reasonable cover. Williams & Clare & Mullaney would seem to have the wing & FB spots at the moment with Caro pushing them. Campbell is reasonable cover for this as well and possibly push them also. My main concern is how he recovers from the fracture. Are either of the 2 academy guys we've promoted backs?

If we've signed Campbell as anything more than a backup player I'd be shocked. He's 28 and as far as I can see has never played in a full time environment. He's also coming back from a leg break that many thought was a career ender.

Interesting statement. Very short and sweet and nothing from Siejka thanking the club or fans.

Saw Mick Gledhill tweet him wishing him best for his new path. But thought I would wait until it was announced he was going.

Must have a 7 lined up. Only HB I've seen us linked with is Kyle Wood.

Any more clues on our prop :)

If not do you think it's a good signing?

With Harry now gone, a new 7 is now surely the start and end of the priorities. There aren't too many around and available, but summut still hasn't announced a club for next year, if he ends up at Workington or dewsbury this year whilst we continue to sign wingers and full backs and projects and gambles I'll be annoyed.

We surely can't be planning on starting the season without a single recognised 7 in the squad??? (For the sake of this I'm pretending we should be controversial and play players in their best positions, so Addy is a back rower, purtel a centre, mullany a full back)

Be careful what you wish for, one day you may get it!

As much as I agree that we need a decent recognised scrum half, Leeds this season and England last week did OK without one. Lets hope we don't go down the road of signing someone with the tag of SH but not the player we need. We have enough in the squad to cover until the right man comes along.

I can accept failure, but I can't accept not trying.

The notion that you need an organising scrum half to lead the team around the park is old school. What you need is a player who can put people through a gap take on the defence.

I agree we dont just need an organizer, and I also agree we dont just need to sign any 7 because they have the tag SH, thats how we ended up with HS. But we do need someone who is going to start as a half back, regularly alongside Gaskell to get a consistent understanding and partnership in respect of the attacking structures, with a creative game, ideally a kicking game and as red says, someone who can threaten opposition defenses, and the players in the squad who can cover this at present I think, IMHO, wont be good enough consistently enough in the middle 8's in such a key pivot role. (but id love to be proven wrong BTW!)

Wish I could, but I think he could be very good for us but has it to prove
