I don't think I would agree with that. As far as I understand (and if I'm wrong I will back quietly away from this post) the club is currently a private business, owned by a group of shareholders? So, having mis-managed the finances and screwed the whole thing up, if they are successful in getting enough pledges to stay afloat, the shareholders pocket the cash and are left with the (apparently now viable) business. With their asset secured, at your expense, they then get back on with the serious business of getting you to pay to use said asset.

If you bail the company out, you won't get a new board, so it has to be one or the other.

I am a big fan of the way RL fans come together in times of difficulty, and I would donate to a collection of some sort to keep Bradford afloat, but only if it was done in a way that involved the club either being under new management, or handing over some equity and executive power to a group representing the fans. I would help the fans gain the finance to do that, but I wouldn't be donating any of my money to secure the position of private businessmen and bail them out from their poor decisions.

If I'm given the choice between: administration, losing our best players, a new board

OR

the same guys running the club now, but we survive this mess without a fire sale

Then I choose option number 2, every time, without a moment's hesitation. Some people want answers before they pledge, that fine. But I'd rather have a rugby club to support.

Agreed.

But I just can't imagine my life without the Bulls. Fscked either way really, but I'd rather risk it and have a club to watch.

We've saved about 200 quid on season tickets past couple of years too.

I'd agree if I really thought the Bulls would cease to exist. I don't believe that. I think you'd still have a club. It might have to go through some tough times first, but administration would give you a fresh start.

Crude and slow Whino, your attack was no better than that of a clumsy child.

like most other people I need more information before I'll consider giving any of my money to Peter Hood and co.

Where is the money going that we raise?
where are we getting the other 500k if we do raise that much?
and what assurances are they that this wont happen again?

I'd be willing to donate something to save my club but i need answers im afraid.

I've just pledged, but i would also like the answers to those above and many more.

IA mode off.

I admire your commitment, but I honestly think there are better ways to save the Bulls. This scheme just looks like saving the interests of the current shareholders to me. Sorry.

I am such a Leeds supporter, and I'd pledge to support fan takeover, but honestly, if this was Leeds, I wouldn't be pledging my money to our shareholders with nothing in return.

Think harder Mr Hood.

Spot on, and as fellow Rhino, I agree with you.

As is said, I watched some now very close friends and Trinity supporters initially thinking this was a good idea start to reasonably collectively realise just this is just a waste of money!

I know I'll be pledging today, just waiting for Bennett to email me back with answers to my questions.

Last one is where are the buckets. Finished Uni for easter now, so I'm thinking about setting up stall in the train station, not going to be reaching the thousands, but every little helps, right?

The current board members are not "the club", I'm not inclined to send money their way so they can stay in their ivory towers given the opportunity to mis-manage the finances all over again.

The fact that there was a pre-planned, pre-packaged mailshot tells me this is about preserving the status quo who have, at best, consistently misled the supporters about the state the club is in.

On another note, not everyone can stump up money but I know from experience that there are lots of people willing to offer time. Maybe people could flood follow Ewwenorfolk's lead and look for other ways to support the club. I'll happily carry a donations bucket on a stag doo I'm on in Barcelona this weekend ;)

Who are the shareholders at Bradford? Are they putting any money in? Why would people put £100 in to back up the club and get nothing back for it?

Jeez, I'd end up spending it on Spanish Hookers, San Miguel and Charlie. :ROCKS:

Because the thought of it being our last match ever is too much to bear.
