I have simply no idea what to think now. But I like the fact we have an owner. The fact that he was at pains to point out in his press release that if he just wanted his money back he would have had us wound up at least gives me a feeling that total oblivion is off the table for the time being.
Well put.
Today, I feel that we have stopped moving backwards.
The RFL has welcomed Green's takeover of the Odsal side.
"We welcome the announcement that the acquisition of Bradford Bulls has now been concluded, a move which brings to an end what has been an unfortunate period of instability for a club that can now face the future with renewed confidence," director of standards and licensing Blake Solly said. "We are sure Marc and his staff will receive a warm welcome from the club's supporters and indeed the whole rugby league family." The Bulls are currently bottom of Super League on minus two points and face Widnes on Saturday.
Steve Ferres didnt lead Wakey into any finacial disasters, hes as tight as gnatts chaff.
He will get value for every penny spent, my only criticisms of him would be his personality and he has itchy feet. I think he will do well for you.
He was CEO and thus presided over the Pearman fiasco during his first stint and was the man at the helm in his second go during the ill-fated selling off of Belle Vue. Not all his own doing, Ted Richardson was a major protagonist in these events as well but he played his part. His 'plan' for Cas was to put the club into adminsistration to wipe the debts as has been confirmed by messrs Fulton and Gill. His best achievement was at York, where he dragged them up from the doldrums. As you say he does tend to get through a few jobs quite quickly. I get the feeling he may just be at Bradford for the short term to get the expenditure down quickly, that old cutting your cloth to suit phrase again.
Oh and also used to coach at Huddersfield but the sacked him in favour of Garry Schofield.
RFL director of licensing and standards Blake Solly said the board of directors would base their decision (of a points deduction) on the club’s willingness to pay off creditors. “The primary concern for the board is that clubs do not receive an unfair advantage by leaving creditors unpaid through the administration process,” confirmed Solly.
Solly also confirmed that if a new owner came in and paid off all creditors in full, the Bulls could launch an unprecedented appeal to win back the six points they had deducted as punishment for entering administration. “There is an appeal process whereby a sporting sanctions appeal panel is set up by the RFL and that includes one of our independent tribunal chairmen and an insolvency practitioner,” explained Solly. “They would hear the case put forward by the club and make a decision on any appeal. Amongst other things, they would assess whether the administration was avoidable.”
Given whats at stake this season, an appeal against the 6 points should be made immediately by the new owners(unless they've not paid anyone off or unless they've already agreed with the rfl not to in order to acheive prefered bidder status of course....)
oh, and i don't kow if its been mentioned before but we need some new players, like yesterday.
If we dont appeal the 6 points I will believe its because our new owners are towing the rfl line as part of a deal;

I can't imagine that the new owners will have any enthusiasm for paying large sums straight out for old debts. So I am assuming that we have the 6 points and there isn't any prospect of any "appeal".
I would like to know a number of things but mostly whether the 50% distribution penalty was a one-off experiment to fatally wound OKB, and whether it has now been quietly put to bed as the calamitous error that it was; or whether we're going to start a couple of years on half money if that's "the going rate" since OKB.

He's not likely to appeal that administration was avoidable when it was him that put the club in administraion is he? Sounds to me like that RFL statement was written with him in mind, knowing he wouldn't say it was avoidable.

Just heard the interview with Koukash and he didn't sound bitter towards Green, but more the RFL and administrator for not even giving Mandy a courtesy call to let her know the situation of her bid.
He said she's upset that the decision was made without giving her the opportunity to invest in the sport.

Surely, on a sliding scale, you should now get a quarter rather than a half ?
