Thorman is one in a considerable line of players who seem to attract polarised opinions, but I've always rated him extremely highly as a player, and he definitely has been rejuvenated and re-enthused by his move to Hull - any fool can surely see that. He played out of his skin on Sunday and his skills were a treat to watch, even as a fan of the losing team.
His style would indeed have fitted in perfectly with the pre-2009 model Deacon and the Bulls' style. Over the years we have benefited greatly with that type of No. 6, from Nigel Stephenson to John Woods.
You might just be poking fun, but as a comment, it makes no sense at all.
I've always rated him as a player - nice hands and a top drawer kicking game - but his defence can be absolutely atrocious at times and stops him being the finished article. IMO of course.
Unfortunately, as I'm sure has been said, the lack of depth in our squad for halfbacks means that we don't have a real option to drop either Deacon or Jeffries. No matter who you put in from our current squad, I can't see them being any better there.
I think that Macca should show Deacs and Jeffries just how badly they are playing by putting Morro and Menzies in there. I know this sounds stupid, but at least they are creative, they won't throw bad passes and it might make Jeffries and Deacon get their ar$es into gear.
(Apologies once again for not reading the thread, so if I repeat anything, sorry!).
I can't for the life of me understand what's happened to Deacon. I used to rate him pretty well. Never a flashy or highly skillful player, but always a dependable type. Rarely threw bad passes, tackled well for a small player etc.
However lately he seems to have massively suffered. The last 2 games have shown, where he seems to have thrown loads of bad or awful passes and missed tackles that you would normally expect him to get, despite his size.
Perhaps he's suffering from the confidence loss that seems to be affecting a few players, but I'm finding it very hard to defend him at the moment, as he's been playing REALLY badly.

Deacon cannot take responsibility for the whole team !

To be fair though, Thorman's defence can't be worse than Jeffries.
He does go looking for the ball to set up attacks. Might not be doing it too well, but that hasnt stopped him from seeking the ball, which is to his credit when he's playing so badly. Jeffries seems quite happy to float about looking to take the occasional offload in space, but doesnt seek to impose himself on the match. A kind of poor man's Alan Hardisty to Deacon's Hepworth.
This explains why we've been well up near the top of the tree for all those years, then, and Deacon at or near the top of every kick stats list there is. But I'm sure the league tables and the records are all wrong, and you are right.
Is there an OPTA stat for kicks in play? ie proximity to opposition full back?
Give over with the stats- he was awful. He was passing like Iestyn Harris with broken arms

You seem very dumb. If you are talking about this season, or even the Hull game, why do you think I think Deacon was anything else but poor? Can't you read?
As for Harris - how we could have done with his skills so far this season. It says a lot about your lack of knowledge that you use Harris, one of the game's most gifted players and especially passers, when you want an example of a crap passer.

Oh yes the Iestyn Harris who's speciality was passing two yards behind the advancing runner and usually on the floor. I was reminded of this several times including his other 'play' throwing the ball in to touch. He also a major factor in why the team is so unbalanced. Yes - he probably would have done better but not by much and wouldn't be difficult
Re deacon - was only reacting to one post as reading the rest of yours bore me to tears
