Feather was good today, never was as good as that at Bradford.

Your coach utterly and completely disagrees with you. So does the PA reporter who starts his report:

PA report on Sporting Life wrote:
Castleford coach Terry Matterson hailed his side's best performance of the season after watching them edge a thrilling engage Super League clash against Bradford at The Jungle.

I can accept failure, but I can't accept not trying.

We played pretty damn well - for most of the match. Cas's coach recognised it needed their best performance of the year (and that from a team near top of table on back of some excellent away results) to beat us.
Yes that's all well and good but a game isn't 70 minutes long. Once again the main area of weaknes in our team namely the defence was exposed again. To conceed three tries in a ten minute spell against a team we had under control is shocking and their isn't no other way of looking at it.

AdeyBull I'm not trying to be negative but here's the facts

Played 6
Won 1
Drawn 1
Lost 4
GD - 46
Points 3
Position 11th out of 14

Sometimes it's about the result and listening to the Cas fans all they were bothered about was the victory not performance or the margin.

I agree today's performance was more positive and there were signs of improvement. Lets not forget we need to start winning and soon, this isn't about marks out of 10 for the performance, it's about the points you get for winning.

Have to completely agree with you. I'd rather play average for 80 mins and clinch a win than play world class for 70 and let 10 tries in in as many minutes. We need a solid performance for the whole game.

Yeah, but I'd rather be getting on a roll near the back end of the season (providing we get a play-off place  ) than get the wins now. A GF win is better than 10 league wins (unless they're against Whinos  )

Could not agree more. I'm as gutted as everyone about that last ten mins (although Cas were outstanding in that period, to be fair).

But It does get a bit grating when all you hear from some quarters is that we are just crap. Was a fair bit of comment round where I was stood about that.

Bad points:

We seem to have almost a set scrpt this year, which invariably includes:
1. Concede a try in the 40th minute
2. If in front, let the defence collaps so that the opposition gets on a roll and scores at will
3. Get out of jail with some great last ditch defence - and then undo it all by giving them the ball back on the zero tackle
4. Instead of counting down the minutes - give them the ball back again by kicking off out on the full
5. Concede a try in the 80th minute
6. Someone takes Deacons head off. this time, looked like a Bailey-style shoulder to the head. All seemingly perfectly legit.

Good points:
1. What a fantastic bloody game! yes I am totally gutted, and we should have had enough to stop Cas getting on the roll - and had the opportunities to do it, losing the ball straight from ths scrum after the last ditch tackle was THE key - hold it for 6 and a decent kick then, and the match was ours. But for most of the game, there was some excelent rugby from both teams.
2. Excellent support from both sets of fans made it a great atmosphere
3. Platt - superb

Yes it was pretty crap.

But did you see the tries?

They were pretty damn good ones.
