I support Bradford Bulls and will therefore renew. As will the family. We may even get an extra season ticket holder for next year as my sister-in-law is now engaged (although his passion is Tottenham) - we shall work on him. Plenty of room for both football and rugby.

This year we have missed a few away games which is unusual but should able to go to more next year.

Have Castleford, Wakefield, Harlequins, Hull KR , Huddersfield gotten more out the salary cap than us. I don't believe any of these are stretching the salary cap to such an extent that it would make them better than us. I just think that have used what funds they have available so much better than us.

What a fake argument though, as the supporters of any of those teams would give their right arms to have swopped teams all through SL, and even now, very probably, if they were honest. We have a very bad season but all of a sudden you put up a post which seems to suggest you'd be more happy if we had what any of those clubs does.

Yet if our record was exactly the same as any of those teams you're telling me that Mac and co would not be being slated by the usual suspects?

Those teams lie 9th, 7th, 3rd and 4th. So spare me the theory that these clubs are some sort of beacon of attainment. They just happen to be in varying degrees ahead of us just now. Or - to be more accurate - we've had a terrible year, it's much more a case of us being behind them this year than vice versa.

Last year we finished MILES in front of every one of those teams yet 2008 is in the mix as one of McNamara/hood/Bradford's so-called "failure" years, and "not good enough". Are you really so shallow as to then think those clubs on the strength of half of one season have found the magic answer and we haven't? If they have, why are two of them patent also-rans, and the other two literally miles short of Leeds and Saints?

RER had a perfectly reasonable argument. The question was why are they getting a better standard of player than us for the salary cap. The original point offered was that if supporters don't turn out in greater numbers then we won't be able to get players as good as we have now(?).You can rant all you want about past glories and records but the plain fact is that the amount of bang we are getting for our buck is pathetic.

He did, but for the reasons I gave I reckon it's a fake one.

rugbyreddog wrote:

Yes, if you accept that they are. I don't. I'm more down the Why are our "better than theirs standard" players peforming worse than theirs.

rugbyreddog wrote:

Was it? Well, if it was, then it's just a truism. It doesn't get us any further.

rugbyreddog wrote:

"Ranting?" Don't be childish, what I wrote is no more a "rant" than what you wrote.

Absolutely true.

Have you ignored the explanations I have repeatedly put forward which may account for at least part of this?

Might be worth thinking too about how much salary cap is/was sat in the stands with Solomona, Tupou and Morrison?

Don't think Tupou and Solomona would alter the equation whether in the stands or on the pitch. Morro has been a great loss though.

Financially. Lot of salary cap tied up that could have been better applied elsewhere.

I can accept failure, but I can't accept not trying.

Ballcocks? That you and others are plumbing the depths when you pipe up about envious glances at a shower like Warrington. Maybe you want to tap up their coach? I wouldn't sink to that.
