Howes said on Real Radio on Sunday that Bradford have a lot of irons in the fire at the moment and to expect some announcements over the coming weeks.

Don't know how much of that is positive or radio talk?

who does howes represent player wise these days? might give us an idea who we're talking to at least.

edit: found it

On the playing front, Howes Etc represents Gareth Ellis, experiencing the NRL Down Under with Wests Tigers, plus a host of engage Super League players of the calibre of Matt Blaymire (Wakefield), Shaun Briscoe (Hull KR), Rob Burrow (Leeds), Mark Calderwood (Hull FC), Ben Cockayne (Hull KR), Eorl Crabtree (Huddersfield), Jason Demetriou (Wakefield), Matt Diskin (Leeds), Kirk Dixon (Castleford), Peter Fox (Hull KR), Stanley Gene (Hull KR), Dave Halley (Bradford), Bryn Hargreaves (St. Helens), Richard Horne (Hull FC), Thomas Lee (Hull FC), David Mills (Hull KR), Lee Mossop (Wigan), Jason Netherton (Hull KR), Luke Robinson (Huddersfield), Michael Shenton (Castleford), James Stosic (Wakefield), Chev Walker (Hull KR), Liam Watts (Hull KR), Scott Wheeldon (Hull KR) and Paul White (Salford).

not many in there of potential interest to use except shenton and maybe luke robinsonor richard horne. glad he doesnt represent thorman :D

probably the area we are talking with howes is with regard to following bit on his website

Howes Etc is playing a growing part in Anglo-Aussie business, enjoying representation agreements with a handful of NRL clubs in Australia. The negotiation of Gareth Ellis moving from Leeds Rhinos to Wests Tigers was the biggest transfer deal of 2008. The switch of prop James Stosic from Gold Coast Titans to Wakefield on a two-year contract was handled by Howes Etc, who were appointed as UK agents by Australian-based club coaches Ian Millward and Graham Murray.

Out of those, I'd take Ellis, Briscoe, Burrow, Crabtree, Demetriou, Diskin, Fox, Hargreaves, Horne, Lee, Mossop, Shenton or Wheeldon. I reckon any of those would be an improvement on our best 17.

was thinking in terms of positions we need i.e. Centre and halves. Dont doubt some of the overs you mentioned are an improvement on what we have but we need to concentrate on the backs this year imo.

I completely agree with that. The halves is right at the top of the list for me, with the our right wing and centre just below (and left wing if Semi goes). I was purely looking at who from that list I'd be quite happy with hearing we'd signed.

If it was a choice of just one from that list, I reckon I'd go with Burrow (sadly, that's incredibly unlikely). After that, probably Fox, Shenton or Lee.

I think theres lots of players that would be good for us in that list, the highlighted two would be well worth a punt IMO, Pretty sure Horne is secure at Hull though

cant see horne leaving hull tbh. Lee is out of contract this year but being linked with salford.feel hes more of a hooker than a half tbh. Dont think he would offer much improvement over sykes/deacon although would give us some cover. hopefully we're looking at someone a bit better. Given we released morro because we needed his quota spot then im hopeful of a couple of imports. Orford being the biggest likely target imo.
