They made time - plenty of time - to interact with a Supporters' Association in the past. Unfortunately, all but a few of the fans seemed uninterested in becoming part of that Association, which limited and eventually pretty well annulled its effectiveness.
In a business, and especially now in the public sector, you don't negotiate and discuss directly with individual employees - that would be impracticable. You do it through the employees' representatives - usually the union reps.
I'd suggest that the answer to the perceived (and yes, I'd say to an extent real) interaction issue is staring people in the face, if apathy could be overcome? Just for once?
Maybe folk will now better understand some of why I get hot under the collar on this subject?
