At the moment, it is Rochdale or possibly Swinton. They are on 10 points each, Swinton have a 62 pts better PD
But, Swinton are away at Batley and Rochdale are away at Sheffield. Batley seem likely to put a big score on Swinton so it could be close.
Hopefully (very) it won't be relevant to us but I doubt there's much chicken counting going on round here
I haven't seen a lot of League 1 this year, but I've seen a bit of Championship. And even though they're at the bottom of the table, I can't see Swinton or Rochdale losing to the third best team in League 1 (which they effectively will be when two teams have already been promoted). Yes there is a "third chance" effectively, but I think it's a very slim one. The playoffs IMO are the only realistic way the remaining 4 teams are going up.
That said, if someone did beat Rochdale/Swinton in that game, ignoring the stupid goalpost moving, you could certainly say that team will have earned their promotion by beating a team who are (arguably) significantly better than them.
