| Quote Mick Cranes Sidestep="Mick Cranes Sidestep"The bit that would worry me is the 6th April deadline - the end of the tax year, suggesting that a payment is due to the IR before you get to paying players a week later.
You need unity on the terraces and you need to get organised and quick - but you know that. One of your own needs to demonstrate some leadership and bring you all together; you can salvage your club - but it may mean hard choices and making sacrifices - but none can be so great as sacrificing YOUR club.'"
5th April is unlikely to have any relevance as a date to any tax payment deadline.

| Quote vbfg="vbfg"So far I have filled out the pledge form at least four times and then closed the window. I can't bring myself to do it, and I can't bring myself not to.
I have the money, and I have a little over a week to decide.
It's up to the club to convince me to do it. I want transparency, not a guilt trip, and I want it from someone who is not Hood. He might be a deft administrator for all I know but right now every sentence he utters in public has the inverted Midas touch to it. The words glitter but they're made from 5hit.'"
Pretty much this. i said i wouldn't but how can you not?
And at the same time I'm not a fscking mug and feel like I will prove to be if I do it.

There was apparently a piece on talksport today with Eddie Hemmings who suggested the IR was one of those requiring money for image rights or offshore tax - I hope it isn't - The IR are far less tolerant these days.

| Why would anyone bid before they needed to.
Clubs would bid based on salary cap. Bateman too, if he went to the club who offered the biggest transfer it may not be the club that could offer the highest wage.
The club could put out a statement that any reasonable offers for any player would be taken into consideration, but the problem with a firesale after the end has already been announced is that people will wait it out before buying unessasarily.

I'm an accountant mate.
We know there is an image rights etc liability to pay. They'll tell you on here I have been going on about this [iad nauseum[/i for years. When I asked Hood at the last forum (written question) he clarified a statement he made at the previous forum, saying that the framework for settlements had been agreed between the RFL and HMRC, but that HMRC had not yet got to Bradford to determine and crystalise our liability.
That was January, so they may well have done so since.
My point though is that the end of the tax year has no relevance as a normal tax payment date. So unless there is a huge coincidence, I'd not read anything into tghe significance of the date itself.
Incidentally, its not so long ago that the club was assuring us that we were not exposed under the HMRC investigations into image rights, EBTS etc. Ho hum.

Same here. I'll end up pledging I know I will but I'm going to hang fire and do it next week when I've heard a bit more.
They really need to come clean about what's going on and more importantly what happens next.

| I'm pledging now. I don't have much faith in Hood anymore, and I feel like a mug for doing it but I don't think there are many other realistic options due to the timescale.
Can't bear to think of the consequences if I don't.

I just hope the directors havent made an asset vanish just before the poop hits the fan. That would be naughty, and would be reversed.

| The Bulls don't own the ground - the council still does. The long term lease has changed hands - allegedly for £1.2m on another thread.

The only relevance this has to tax is if they have substantial amount of Pay As You Earn tax due to HM Revenue & Customs which should of been paid for tax and national insurance deducted from all employees throughout the tax year
But then on that note the end of year certificate does not have to be in to HMRC until the 19th May which will show how much would be due if underpaid throughout the year.
