It has been a bad day but all is not lost yet.
It was a good interview with Lamb and Irvine does have experience. I wouldn't be surprised if all of the other bidders give the RFL a call tomorrow now that all liabilities - known and unknown are gone. Taking bits from different sources these liabilities seem to have scared people off from signing on the dotted line. They can now get whet they want without any baggage. I wonder if the RFL had this in their mind all along as they were very quick to put the new plans into the public domain. They must have been thinking about this result today.
It would be massive if Rohan stayed and talked the youth coaches to stay. If the youth coaches stayed they "might" be able to persuade the young lads to give us a season and see how things went. What a bonus that would be. I would be telling the youngsters that they can play a big part in the re-building of the new Bradford over the next 2-3 years. Really push them into thinking it is a great opportunity to be in there at the beginning and they WILL get a chance here rather than sat in the stand at other clubs.
It needs a "The club needs you!" type of speech from their coach.
Senior players I am not too concerned about if we can keep half of the squad.
I do believe other clubs especially SL would help with loans. RL is a tight knit community.
We may need to start with a small squad of say 25 + youngsters. We can soon pick up a dozen players in my view. The key would be to get through that first season and bring back some faith in the club and more importantly, the owners.
We are due a good one soon just by law of averages.
This week is again a massive few days ahead.
