The most annoying thing about this Rudd story is the Sportinglife RSS.

Anyone who uses it will probably be having the same annoyance I'm having where the Rudd story keep popping up every 10 bloody minutes or so as if it's a new story!

Also the union winger doesn't take the ball into contact anywhere near as much and I'd also say that they have less to do in contact defence although more in positional defence (if that makes sense.) However, the 2 are certainly more similar now than they used to be and it's probably the easiest position to move codes in.

Yes it makes sense, and agree with the general simaralities.
A guy of 6ft and 17 stone could make the transition easier depending on his attitude.
Rudd has long term pedigree, not a has been or never was. Not a wilting violet and been in some top games and had pressure v top opposition.
Current regular player at a RU Premiership Club, and whatever the introverted diehards think, this is a high standard
Dont know what he's like under a high ball but he won't get bounced out of the way.
Big and strong enough to do work in the mid field
Not yet talking him up but hey, his history tells us he might have something to offer better that our current wingers... which in honesty wont take a lot of beating.
Just like him to get the odd pass fron his centres. Lack of which, as expected, might cheese him off.

Yes I agree he always works hard and is honest in his efforts and I really like the guy, he's a gentleman.
But he's neither a winger that has geat pace or guile to beat a defence on his own or altenatively the physical power to bash though them. He's a good finisher when set up. The same lack of attributes make him of limited value when spelling mid field forward runs.

I think his physical power is one of his major attributes, he could teach our props a thing or two as he never takes a backwards step

He got sin-binned in the first ten minutes. I left at half time, he didn't get another touvh on the ball, buthe was switched Wings so that he could attempt to tackle Pryce who was on fire.

He's a big unit. Imagine Jon Scales but bigger.
