As much as we hear about Bradford's youngsters they were shown up by their Castleford counterparts today. Arundel, Owen, Milner, Massey, Thompson and Davies looked a class above the likes of Whitehead and Addy. And we had Clarke and Walker missing.
Would this be the same Marc Herbert, Marc Herbert the pivotal figure who had a hand in all three of the early Bradford tries?
So he plays well for 40 minutes and he is forgiven for the dross he's serve up prior to this. Hope he is not offered a new contract and Briggs is given a go.

"I'm 49, I've had a brain haemorrhage and a triple bypass and I could still go out and play a reasonable game of rugby union. But I wouldn't last 30 seconds in rugby league." - Graham Lowe (1995)
We've been very unlucky with injuries this season, yet again. However, some people were only too willing to swallow the idea that our crop of youngsters were the best going and this is where Macca's legacy would be demonstrated, that has been proven not to be the case, there are certainly some decent players emerging, but certainly no more, or of any higher quality than elsewhere. This argument was used to help sustain Macca in post long after he should have been out of the door, and the culture of failure and the lack of character that set in over those years is difficult to get rid off. Unfortunately some of the senior players seem entirely compromised by that culture and it may well be time to look seriously at getting rid.
I would also now begin to question whether Potter is up to the task of turning that around. Perhaps we need to look at the new breed of coaches and assistant coaches that are coming through the NRL system and give someone the chance to step up along the lines of Brown, Maguire and Robinson. Our defense this year has been appalling, and the ease with which we collapse is familiar from past years. Our attacking play is little better, it's poorly structured, lacks fluency and there is nothing which demonstrates any consistency. Most apparent though is a complete failure of leadership, stupid penalties and ill discipline, all now part of the clubs culture. I would have expected from Potter an improvement in defense, better discipline and the installation of a more robust team character and a desire to win. If that had happened, losing wouldn't be anywhere near as painful. My fear is that our failure becomes Potter's failure, this failure reduces his opportunities in Auz and he gets another contract and we're back in the Macca scenario again. I'd really like to see the same cutting edge that is applied to marketing get applied to coaching and playing staff, if you can't make any measurable difference after a year and indeed if we're going backwards (including the juniors) then either account for yourselves or consider your position.
I hope Potter's got a coherent narrative to explain what's happening, he's an honest guy who has had past success, but I would like to begin to hear how he accounts for the failure of this year.

before i start i need to say i'm a cas fan but come in peace!!!
Just an observation from myself who obviously only get to watch your team when you are either on tv or playing us, but we were 18-6 down and i said to my friend we are going to win this my reasoning behind this was your lads looked out on their feet and had only played around 25 mins (sorry can't remember exact timings) they honestly looked like they were the team that had played the mid week game.
Anyway good luck for your remaining games and to those that travelled to cas today thank you for making the trip
Well all the soul searching doesn't help, fact is we don't have the calibre of player we had 5 years ago and just have to accept that we are a mid table outfit at best, we aint got money, a quality ground or a big name backer like all the top teams have now. We got caught up by the others, then got overtaken and we'll just have to live with it. I hope upon hope Potter can turn it round, he did at Catalan and look at them now. Time will tell.
Absolute disgrace to the shirt. God knows how Herbert got into a team in the NRL, look up the word useless in the dictionary and Herberts name will be next to it. What in gods name are they doing in training everyday. So much for the kids being the next super league stars, Addy is nowhere near good enough, Whitehead is a penalty machine, Kopzcak has 1 good game then 5 bad. The way things are going it wouldn't suprise me if Briggs wants his contract tearing up. half back which we've been crying out for sit on the sidelines week after week. Awful coaching. Awful team play.Potter needs to grow a pair and give the kid a chance instead of playing that waste of space Herbert, okay his defence is suspect but he offers alot more in attack than Herbert. Potter needs his head looking at by letting a talented
And hows playing a half with a broken wrist going to help things?. Idiot!.
