Never liked Kevin Costner, or any other Robbing Hood!!!!

Re: Brian Noble : Wed Jul 04, 2012 6:56 am
I feel that the club would have known that Nobby would step in and help. He's got some time on his hands to do it, and I am sure that Bradford is one club he feels that he is obliged to help because of his roots and his past success.

Whether this manifested itself before MOnday is debatable. But one things for sure, if we want an honest, hardworking coach whose heart is at Bradford and has a proven record of success, and the respect of many people within the game, then there are few to rival Brian. And if he's going to come in for free, Wonderful!

I have always found Nobby to seldom be afraid of expressing himself honestly, and with integrity. If he had been approached prior to MOnday, he would have said. Remember, Nobby and Mick go back quite a long way. there's plenty of respect and friendship. The whole Franny thing is understandable too! If he's coming in with a game at the weekend, he needs somebody who knows the players very well to help him. Can see why he did that.

None of us like the way that the staff were delat with on Monday. Not one bit! But look forward. Withy Nobby and Tasker working without pay in the short term, we could be a lot worse off!

Anyway, he was on a tour of Aus and Fiji last Thursday, and as Guilfoyle can't even operate a voicemail, international calls would clearly be beyond him.

Or maybe the administrator's team includes Mystic Meg, and they thus knew what Potter would say, before they had asked him? If so, then why did they need to ask Noble?

Has anyone asked the players to play for nothing yet. That should ease finance a little?

Cassandra, As soon as a club does that, it makes their contracts null and void. Thats the last thing the club will want to do as the players are the only assets the club has! They can seek to defer payment, but with cashflow being the problem, the players are likely to see that as not being paidf and thus they are free to go!

you dont need to offer an apology, you are simply wrong. he was asked if he would take over for free last THURSDAY which allowed the decisions to be made with potter etc when he indicated he would. That doesnt mean he was offered the role then.

and whos the muppet, when your stating he cant of been??? do you really think that you cant line up a replacement until you have 100% confirmation that the potter has turned it down.

They never thought for a second potter would agree and thats why nobby was approached. the fact that they were firing mp, his coaching staff, his wife and all the back office staff, all when it is clear it hasnt been done in the most proffessional way was a good reason why he was likely to decline.

nobby isnt too happy with how its been handled although he is likely to accept the role now and could be announced today.

In the paper Nobby is quoted as saying it might be too tough a gig. Come on Nobby you have never shirked a challenge in your life! You mention a negative reaction being made. At the meeting on Monday there was just one numptie who mouthed off against the suggestion you might be involved in a coaching capacity, at least short term and he was very quickly shouted down. Any reaction is not against you coming in at all, rather it was the way Mick Potter was shown the door.

As a proud Bradfordian with red and amber and black coursing through your veins, now is the time Nobby. Come on back to Odsal, we need you Sunday.

Re: Brian Noble : Wed Jul 04, 2012 7:14 am
the fact Nobby may have theoretically been sounded out to work for nowt before Monday and in principle may have agreed to help out if all else failed may have accelerated the decision to make the wholesale cull of the coaching staff

Why can't the players give the wages as a donation?

Nobody cares when he was asked, what he replied or what he had for breakfast. We need a passionate Bradfordian in the coaches seat today.

I didn't like the way noble had been linked to the caisley consortium and that this had been predicted months ago but I feel we need him now

One more here happy to see you at the club, sorry for thinking you could be part of this mess

Re: Brian Noble : Wed Jul 04, 2012 8:02 am
I don't think anyone supports the way the staff cuts this week were handled or the timing. Most people understand the severity of the situation and the fact that drastic measures are needed, but having been forced to manage restructuring (closing) sites myself I know the one thing you have to do is keep staff informed of the circumstances as far as possible and man up and see them all face to face.

But if B Noble is prepared to step in and help in this awful situation then all fans should support him. By whom and at what time he was contacted isn't the point - if he is prepared to step in and help get a team on the field then this is a massive contribution to salvaging something from the wreakage. Having come accross Brian several times when he was still a crime prevention officer I always found him open and honest - and even if he couldn't coach (and he can) then these are two qualitites which are definately needed now!

Lets all get behind him
