The RFL do have to show some attempt at following due process. I cannot see how they could effectively charge, try, convict and sentence the Bulls AND also announce our replacement all in the same breath. Not unless there'd been some agreement behind the scenes where we have agreed to drop out of SL. And the vibes coming from the club do not suggest that's at all likely.

You would expect the RFL to cover all the bases, by having contingency plans for what would happen if the Bulls were unable to fulfil their SL obligations because of the financial situation. Logically, that would include identifying a club or clubs that were on notice that they might have to fill a gap at very short order?

That would not be to say that it was likely to happen, or that the prospective candidate club/s had high expectations that it was likely to happen, just that the possibility had been considered and addressed.

And anyway, I do not believe for one minute that Bulls are the only club facing an uncertain future financially. What would the RFL do, for example, if Wilkinson finally said enough is enough at Salford?

Castleford are definatly in financial trouble. I know that Hull FC were on the brink before Pearson took over.

All the noises coming out of Salford suggest financial problems

I hope Wakefield fans are taking notes - a new ground isn't necessarily the panacea for all ills

Or the RFL move Halifax to Odsal, as the new tenant of their stadium, and they take on the Bulls players and are renamed the Bradford-Halifax Bulls playing a few games a year at the Shay, in the mode of the Huddersfield-Sheffield Giants, where the legal form was that Sheffield took over Huddersfield...

Oh, and in a year or so, the cumbersome name gets shortened to the Bradford Bulls, and the inefficiency of playing at the Shay is eliminated...

No a good ground is not the answer but a good business plan with someone who knows more about the numbers rather just knowing about rugby is helping us loads.

Not overspending on players
Not offering silly ticket pricing that doesn't cover overheads.
Reading player contracts/clauses when doing deals.

Think Glover just mentioned he's actual made some profit in the little time he's been here.

Also we were only deducted 4 points due to him paying most of what we owed. Rules do state that if in admin the deduction of points is based on money written off. My guess is yours will be more due to the level of debt.

But our old ground is rugby suicide.

Difference with our ground: as Glover said today, effectively we will own it, as it will be run by a Trust with our interests at heart.

Salford's crowds have improved. Just not as much as they needed to.

Same can be said for you. Who's to say that playing from Halifax couldn't do the same to you. Halifax have been chomping at the bit to have another go. They may have a sugar daddy in the wings to back them. And in a case of two clubs coming together the one with the money usually wins over.
