I think everybody within Rugby League wants a strong Bradford in the league,I don't think the RFL have done you any favors though for this season, you will really have to hit the ground running, though with no team, no coach at the moment that seems very unlikely, what will probably happen (hopefully not) you will be relegated so next season you will be in the position you would have been this, if the RFL had thought it through properly,I do think though that Bradford supporters have been really badly treated by their management through the years, lets not forget you do have previous for this 1962 i believe you were also liquidated, this has nothing to do with the supporters though it is purely down to greed and very dubious characters leading your club, the very best of luck, hopefully won't be to long till we welcome you back to Langtree Park for your annual pasting :)

Rather than have a season out of it, why not give it a shot in the Championship while recognising that relegation is almost certain. Accepting this it gives a year of running a rugby club, learning, raising funds and partners, in order to hit C1 in 2018 in much better position off the pitch, ideally have a plan for developing Odsal for some use beyond rugby league which in the long term is the only viable way to fund the club and with a plan to get back to the Championship in 1-2 years and SL in 3-4 years? The key thing is having a plan

That's what I'd be thinking. The money isn't there to meet fans' expectations, so fans' expectations have to meet the money....

If relegation is almost certain then it’s not really “giving it a shot” is it? It’s a forgone conclusion. How do you attract people to watch that? Nobody is obligated to go. Who will want to put their money into that? Now if you’re starting afresh in League 1 I can get on board with everything else you’re saying but I’m certainly not on board to watch a lame duck club get stuffed in every game just so fixtures are fulfilled.

And herein lies the problem. Block5Bull's idea is a sound one in theory. The only place it falls over is the income in 2017 will be next to nothing as no fans are going to want to go and watch that barring the ones who are only doing it to put money into the club.

Without a sugar daddy, the new club are in a horrible place from the get go regardless of their strategy.

Re: Phoenix from the flames? : Wed Jan 04, 2017 9:23 am
Well from my perspective fwiw I do not see an issue with what the RFL have offered. Its complex, they could have have said the new club starts with a clean slate in the lower Division but this would cause all sorts of problems for clubs. The issue of docking 12 points for any new owner is very harsh for them given the minimum funding thats 6 games to win to get on zero points, the way players are rumoured to be signing for other clubs leaves the club very weak and bar a fabulous run of results probable relegation.

There are certainly incentives here, if the club manages to stay up then that would be a great base to move forward. If it went down then the club has time to sort its business model out.

At Wakefield after Glover times were hard for Michael Carter but he has stuck to his guns on the business model he will not spend more than what comes in. Thats probably difficult at this time but plans can be put in place for either division, as previously stated on here its not going to be the same and new club has the opportunity to get itself in order, the struggle may well be to keep the fan base.

Good luck from a Wakey fan

As long as your season ticket is honoured, who cares about the creditors who haven't been paid, or the players and staff who have lost their jobs? Yeah, it's definitely for the better. Better for you.

Green is one of the biggest creditors so him not receiving a bean is actually a late xmas present,
The second largest is HMRC which as underhanded as it is they will live and hopefully Green will be brought to account for.

The players everyone feels sorry for their situation and hopefully they will be also given new contracts and treated with some respect by a "possible" new owner.

As well as small suppliers taken by Green hopefully these will be worked with by the new company and can get back a bit of the money they have lost over time.

There are 1000 fans that are also creditors that have lost £200.00 a piece that has been fraudulently taken from them, as with the small suppliers £200 that would be struggled to replace, so there is 1000 supporters possibly lost to the club.

I am been 100% honest when I say if and when it comes to it I will buy my season ticket with the new company at full price as well as the new kit to try and put money into a new company and make it viable for a new owner.

I will also make enquiries about sponsorship from my company when a set in stone management company is in place with a clear plan to mover forward.

Its about making the best of a very $hitty situation, cheers for trying to portray me in a negative light though.

I think the way to attract people to watch would be if a few of the under 19s who had gone full time were marketed as a front. Something along the lines of having heart and desire to play for the club to prepare for what ever eventuality be it relegation of a miracle avoidance. A couple of older heads such as Leon a season of getting their bodies used to the rigours (if they have developed enough physically obviously) of full time rugby to go full tilt at CH1 in 2018. I think its better to do that than get thrown into CH1 now with all the extensive travel costs and chasing getting out of that league at the first attempt while Toronto are in there, we will see the same situation chasing promotion at the first attempt as we have in my eyes

There's only 23 games.

After losing 3 to HKR & probably 2 to London (the two strongest FT teams) that leaves us with 18 other matches to try and overturn a -12 starting position.

It won't happen.

This is the RFL offering us a poisoned chalice. They would prefer we take on some players (so they're not responsible for them) and be whipping boys for the season. Rather than there be collateral damage to the other 11 clubs and a 12th club is promoted to be the whipping boys.

I would much prefer a champ1 start, clean slate. As has been pointed out many times, we are now a new club. The RFL don't need to punish us anymore.
