If we had money to sign a player like Bird then we can afford to pay off McNamara. If a new coach comes in before May/June, then they will have time to properly plan for next year and recruit their players. One thing is for sure, If I was Peter Hood I would not be negotiating any player contract extensions or allowing McNamara to either.
I would rather see a new coach come in and have a genuine "transitional season" than muddle through to the end and hamstring the next coach witha squad that is up to the cap limit with players he would not want.
For my money, I would love to See Brian Mac back here, but more importantly, if McNamara goes, the so should all the other coaches too. Just like when Brian Smith came, we need a totally fresh start, so Richards, Clawson, St Hillaire etc should also go!
Why wait till 10 games. Didn't we have these same discussions last year. Like let's wait till the new players have settled in then lets wait till June. Then it was once we have all our players back and have had pre-season we'll see the best of the team. A point a bloke who was stood near us at the Hull KR game said watching that game was like we hadn't had a break and it was still last season and he was right it hadn't felt like we had been away.
Take you're point RER but, IIRC, it was AP who suggested the prospect of laying of with the suicide pete views for 10 games that "others" then signed up to . . . . and then, as expected, not so subtly forgot about after game one

Anyway, let's be honest, if we remained silent and allow the McNamara fan club to tell us how good the man is then this board would be somewhat quiet at the moment. After all, most of 'em are strangely silent as it stands.
So, your (written) word means nothing then . . . . .
. . . oh, hang on . . . .we've already had that confirmed elsewhere today

Chance would be a fine thing . . . beside which, quantity is no substitute for quality, ne's pa

TBH i don't think even the staunchest of critic's Mystic and myself included thought we would be bringing the same problems as last season in to this that's what surprised me the most.

Maybe not, and I'm sure most people on here from the Negative Tendency at one extreme to the supposed McNamara Fan Club at the other are disappointed with our start to the season.
Just as well this isn't the Wire board, cos I think we'd have seen people topping themselves by now.
But I don't recall any get-out clauses in the 10-week moratorium agreement, in fairness, so you can understand why those who stated they had signed up to it appear to be displaying bad faith?
And anyway...I think you included a stray word in your post by mistake - I've highlighted it in case you need to delete it...
Dear me. Some people are really clutching at straws over this supposed "10 game rule" are they not?
Get out clauses? Bad faith? (written) word meaning nothing? This is a message board for goodness sake, not a court of law!
The fact remains that IF there had been a noticeable sign of improvement then ten games would be fair to assess where we were at and where we were going. But there appears to be no change whatsoever (WITHOUT THE DRAIN OF IESTYN) and therefore the criticism is justified IMO.
I (and other I assume) are sick of the endless talk that comes out of the club about how what we are doing to put problems right without there being any remote sign of improvement on the field. Perhaps if McNamara and his footsoldiers realised that actions speak louder than words then I, for one, would cut him some slack.
Finally. much as it will display the "Fan Club", myself and RER, whilst being the harshest of critics of the coach, are no longer singing a duet as plenty more on here are now swiftly running out of patience and (appear to) want to see a change sooner rather than later.

Not in the least. IIRC RER has never fully sung from your hymn sheet. True, he may have agreed with certain points but has also agreed with others.
I think its a tad unfair of you to drag him into your "fan Club". I have no doubt that RER is, probably more than most, his own man, and if he wants to be in your, as you put it, "fan club" he'd be the first to say so.

If I read ME right he means as much as it would dismay the "fan Club", IE the McNamara, positive, camp... as opposed to the other camp occupied by ME, RER and a growing?? list of dissidents .
Are RAB posters split into four groups now?;
1. Fan Club - generally positve and backing McNamara for now
2. Undicided - does what it says on the tin
3. Negative Tendancies - generally opposed to McNamara and wanting change now.
4. Couldn't care less, just find it all fun to read from the touchlines!
I reckon we could put all posting members on this forum into one of these categories having read the board from the end of last season to now. (if not from long before that with certain individuals... )
