He has a rep for out and out pace so I guess that's the thought behind it, especially as we've been caught out due to the lack of it too many times to mention. Would still have liked to see a half though...

Incidentally, it isn't for next year [as yet] just the end of the season.

Well it addresses our speed issue. He has a very good strike rate, think he scored 20 in 22 for KR, but there are question marks over his defence and not sure how good he is under high ball. But let be fair, Shaw, Ulugia haven't exactly been brilliant in defence.

I think we need to forget about getting a HB. It would be pointless anyway IMO We're unlikely to get anyone with any real quality such as Sammut, Obrien etc There's no on available in the UK so it would have to be an import. I wouldn't like us going into the crunch fixtures with a new HB who's still getting to know the team, being relied upon to be our main playmaker and lead us around the field.

We know if Gaskell or Mullaney get injured, then Addy and Siejka aren't as good options. But what are the chances of getting anyone as good as Gaskell and Mullaney at this late stage?

Having watched the video interview my considered reaction is "Urrrgh he talks funny". If he can drop his Ts before the middle 8s he'll have my support.

I think this confirms (fitness assumed) that the plan is for Mullaney to be in the halves - naturally pushing Shaw to fullback and therefore we need another outside back.

I'd have preferred another half with Mullaney at FB, but maybe one wasn't available.
