Some of it was written off, the public certainly didn't have to fork out for it.

We'll have paid for it one way or another.

This seems quite big to me - that the council is announcing 'We're going to tax you more to pay for Odsal' suggests that they are prepared to weather the likely sh.tstorm from City/Cougar fans plus other 'I don't use it, why should I pay for it' types. Why would they bother to do this if they weren't serious, or at least semi-serious?

But they aren't going to tax more.

The article states that the £15m is being provided from money gained by the sale of the Airport. There won't be any extra tax burden on the Council tax payers.

At the same time though there won't be any less!

Using the windfall from the Airport to invest in capital schemes such as this and school rebuilding is, in my opinion, the correct thing to do.

and the rate rise - including the provision for the funding for odsal, has been passed. Things are starting to look positive :)

Thanks to the BNP.

They should be given a stand at Odsal to thank them.

Banque National de Paris? Don`t they sponsor the French open tennis. No, banks are odious institutions. A pox on all their houses I say.

A very significant announcement this, looking forward to seeing the plans, one thing is for certain, its not quite the scheme it was. This now looks like a totally new build.

Great news.

I work for "NHS Estates" which incidentally is not the name anymore so I'll see what I can find out.

...Permission for up to 150 homes was first rejected in 2003 after objections from the Bradford Bulls, which claimed developing the site next to the club’s Odsal stadium could have wrecked any redevelopment of the ground.

The objection was withdrawn in 2004 after an agreement between the club and the NHS which guarantees a stadium access route through the land.

May not have any direct bearing, therefore?

The Fans Forum & What Peter Hood said... : Thu Mar 12, 2009 1:26 am
At the fans forum Peter Hood pulled out some plans of the OSV from his pocket and said that in the next few days we would hear something in the press, it has been over a month now and still nothing, is this because of the Bradford City groundsharing talks?
