Could get nasty the people waiting for Godot resolved to hang themselves due to his non-appearance, I know Bulls fans are passionate but that might be going a bit far?

The Whole issue comes down to a question of integrity.

Even though we have been one of the most successful clubs in the Superleague Era, WE ARE SIMPLY NOT "ENTITLED" TO BE IN SUPERLEAGUE.

Superleague has in place (rightly or wrongly) the licensing system, and by entering administration, the RFL reserve the right to revoke that license when they see fit. The RFL has already gone above and beyond what other governing bodies in sport would do in helping to keep us afloat, in terms of the stadium purchase and drawing down Funding early.

They hold all the cards. they will not want the adverse publicity of a top club going bust, but they wont want to be seen to be condoning financial meltdown at a club without punishment.

This will go to the brink! They dont want to have to expunge all our results, as it will leave a very strange looking league as we play leeds 3 times! but they also will want to be seen to be fair to the likes of Featherstone and Halifax who are potentoally in SL.

With my cynical hat on, I feel the RFL will "conduct" a mini license review of the three clubs, and that we will keep our place until the next full license review. It will be a sham, and the fans of fev and halifax will quite rightly cry foul.

The ABC people will keep the club going until the point of the next license, but then, who knows? Even Guilfoyle isnt looking beyond the next 18 months!

Speaking as a Fev fan I agree with most of what you say, I won't however be crying foul.

Fev would mad to take your place for 2013. We currently have a large number of the current squad signed to part time contracts for the next year & in many cases 2014 as well. Some would not be considered good enough to step up, some would have no interest in giving up jobs to go full time at the back end of their careers. We couldn't simply walk away from these contracts, it would no doubt be expensive, probably requiring salary cap exemptions to pay them off. It would also be the kind of logistical headache you really don't need when trying to assemble a SL squad at a few weeks notice.

Oh yeah, and when you've dealt with the chaos that ensues from the above at the end of the first season you need to submit your application to retain your licence and unless you've been given all manner of exemptions you will be judged against the existing SL clubs to the SL criteria not the ones you were planning to meet as recently as 12 months ago. Sounds like a suicide mission to me. I see no reason why the same would not apply to Fax.

I'd be amazed if those running Fev really wanted to replace you, more likely they see it as an opportunity to ingratiate themselves with RFL by willingly providing at least a superficial sense of competition to a 'mini franchise round' and an opportunity to attempt to position ourselves as next in line for 2014, when I believe they are deadly serious about being accepted.

Provided whoever emerges as owner of Bradford is willing and able to fund a full time operation I genuinely can't see you not being in SL for 2013. Whether a written guarantee is offered might be another matter of course.

Digressing slightly, is the ABC's anticipated conditional offer expected to be to buy the existing company(Bradford Bulls holdings??) and take on its debts or a newco proposal? Was under the impression it was the former but then saw Guilfoyle quoted to the effect that when the offer was received he would then apply to have the licence/franchise transferred to a new company.

Perfectly sensible (you sure you're from fev? ) and I agree with all your points, fev and fax will have very strong cases come 2014.

Regarding your last para, yes I'd noticed that, its not clear to say the least, coupled with the lack of suggesting the HMRC are being involved in the discussions it does make you wonder. As far as the RFL and RFL membership goes, I posted various snippets from the operaitonal rules some pages back which implies to me that the difference in it being a newco or oldco is not overly relevant to the rfl....but I'd suggest it is hugely relevant to other parties, like the fans., other clubs and HMRC. I think I might just go back to sticking my head in the sand till its all over....

If it is a Newco, how quickly could the Bulls field a team? The conventional wisdom has been that the players would become free agents, but Rangers seem but to be trying to prevent some of their old players from joining other clubs. Is that a peculiarly football/Scottish issue or could it apply to a Bulls newco?

Duckman: burying my head in the sand til the fan has distributed the sticky stuff has worked for me in the past!! :D

Re newco forgot to mention 3rd option that had occurred to me. Buy existing company with its debts, transfer assets (players, stadium if bought back & licence) into newco then wind up oldco leaving behind its debts. Possible? Legal?

The phrase politically correct is in itself politcally incorrect so should be rephrased politically stupid!

If you like old type radio comedy/ dramas etc listen to //pumpkinfm.com/

Statistically speaking you have a better chance of getting dead the older you get!

Thank god only when you find a religion that passes the truth test!

Ross Heppenstall‏@rosshmediaman

Brendan Guilfoyle has confirmed that ABC have finally made a bid to buy the Bulls.

Ross Heppenstall‏@rosshmediaman

Guilfoyle said: “Their offer is conditional on the RFL selling back Odsal and on the Bulls retaining their Super League status."

Ross Heppenstall‏@rosshmediaman

Guilfoyle: “The next few days are going to be critical for the club. I can’t speculate on what the outcome will be....

Ross Heppenstall‏@rosshmediaman

BG: "ABC, the RFL, the administrators and professional advisers for all parties will be focused on trying to get a deal over the line."

Wonder if this means they've reached agreement with RFL or they are putting it out in public to put pressure on RFL

I'd read that as 2 things
1) I aint too confident on this working out too good
2) I'll spin this out for a while and get more fees for myself.

I hope neither are true

Re: Latest state of play posts only : Thu Jul 19, 2012 11:30 am
I watched the red button after the Leeds - Wigan Match and they interviewed Blake Solly i think it was, The Licencing Man from the RFL and he was quized and questioned by the BBC, He said then that their was no precident set in wakefield and Crusaders previously and that they made it very clear that if Clubs did not fullfil their licencing criterea the RFL could revoke those licences, He was asked if the RFL would give guarentees that the Bulls could keep their licence and he confirmed that these guarentees could not be given, He was also asked would the RFL consider a 13 team Sl next year, Definately not was the answer and that the clubs had voted for a 14 team SL and that is what it would stay. All in all IMO reading between the lines the RFL would not give Licence guarentee past the end of the season and it would remain a 14 team SL regardless of what happens.
I dont think it looks good for you guys im affraid i also think the RFL would be daft to sell the stadium Lease back to the consortium without putting in place contractual guarentees that it wont end up as something else.
